Mutual reviews for web novel authors

This will only lead to Authors praising each others stories and swapping 5 stars. With time expect multiple 5-star GPT Reviews to appear under every new story with 10 readers. Though as far as I know, this isn't explicitly forbidden, so who am I to complain? However curiously nobody on SH has...

Editorial Critique Requests [CLOSED (to further submissions)]

I am not only the world's best detective (humbling chumps like L, Conan, or Columbo), but I am also a fortune teller. ZVARRI! The truth has once again been elegantly revealed to me! I can see Fontana's future.... please be warned. Setting your eyes on the future is irreversible and may...

    I bought a Steam Deck

Enjoy it. I'd appreciate some feedback. I am playing with the thought of buying one for myself. You got the 512 GB OLED model, right? Not the cheaper LCD? Gimme the deets, please.

Is 5k words too much for the first chapter?

Split it down the middle. No questions asked.

the whole thing "AI does all the work," is a myth and a lie here's why

I fully agree. That app is Grammarly for me. I use it on my phone and my PC, but nowadays these apps are also relying on AI. Grammarly works the same way as Word did a decade ago, but it's powered by AI. Same principle, but it works better for me. Granted, I only use the free version as I don't...

the whole thing "AI does all the work," is a myth and a lie here's why

I have those issues, but using Grammarly helps me not only to fix these issues, but it also immediately tells me when I have fucked up and helps me avoid those mistakes in the future. The red lines get rarer and rarer every month, and I mostly credit Grammarly.

the whole thing "AI does all the work," is a myth and a lie here's why

AI can be a godsend to avoid spelling errors. Grammarly is godly, and I use it not only when I'm working on my story, but also when posting stuff. I love Grammarly, and it's the sweet spot in terms of AI in my opinion. More than that and your story loses its soul, less than that and you risk...

When does a character go from flawed to unlikable?

I know quite a few people with evil MC's that are all around scumbags, still, people like them. Not everyone wants to self-insert into a story. Still, I guess in general what you are saying is true.

When does a character go from flawed to unlikable?

Some characters are supposed to be unlikable. Likeability is highly subjective. I think consistency is way more important than likeability.

    My chapters aren’t there???

That is why. Whoever did this might have taken just 1 glance at your account/patreon, has seen like mountain of stories and then just assumed that it’s TL. Heavy use of AI certainly doesn't help (didn't check myself just judging from what others said). Anyway, you can fix is so don't panic. Just...

    My chapters aren’t there???

This appears like a translation, I believe you that it isn't but you offer like an extreme amount of other stories, so one may get the impression that it's not written by you. You can only contact support.

Is the power of love the key to popularity?

You got 30 readers with 1 chapter. According to my quik mafs you'll earn another 300 with 10 more chapters.

Is the power of love the key to popularity?

You need to throw 10 chapters a week at them. No mercy, no time to rest. Eventually you'll trend and then you can relax. :blob_popcorn:

Is the power of love the key to popularity?

Mine isn't much better. Sometimes you have to brute force things and just never stop. Overwhelm the readers with chapters until they relent!!

    A Corner for Winners

I think this is actually a great idea. Would make this site a lot more popular. Doesn't need to be every month, but every few months, a minor one, and then a bigger contest that's happening once a year would be incredible.

Bugs 1-star Rating Bomb from a suspicious account

All of his 40 hate 1-star ratings got removed by Tony/Admin. The stories are still on his reading list, so that means he still gave out 40 "drops," but that's fine. Don't forget to block the account. Thank you, Tony/Admin, you are the GOAT. Thank you to everyone who dropped a quick report...

Bugs 1-star Rating Bomb from a suspicious account

He added all of the 40 stories 3 hours ago, and he voted all 3 of @Juia_Darkcrest stories 1 star. There is not even room for doubt. Angry butthurt forum user. Just report. All of his 1-stars are from people active on the forum.

Bugs 1-star Rating Bomb from a suspicious account

@Fairemont It's the same guy. He rated your story at the same time as mine. He added a bunch of stories 3 hours ago, and all instantly added them to his "dropped" list and left 1 stars left and right. This might be worth a report, since he could never realistically read so many stories this...

Bugs 1-star Rating Bomb from a suspicious account

Yep, also found another hater that targeted me. Added both of my stories at the same time, read 1 chapter, instantly dropped them, and gave me a 1-star rating on both. All in a span of a single minute. He has rated one story with a 5/5 and 40 other stories with a 1/5. Those are his only reviews...
