Seeking advice: stuck in meetings this week in a building where the air conditioning has no concept of moderation. By 2 PM today my hands were frozen and it was making me... angry. They won't like me when I'm angry.

Tips or advice? (Generally I am near a trusty space heater... but alas... where I go it cannot come).

Workplace won't adapt to you, so you adapt to your workplace. Bring jacket instead.

Also, moving around for a few minutes will keep you warm. If peeps ask you why you won't sit still, tell them of your problem with the cold. It's a health issue, so you have rights to it.

I fear I may be that person wearing gloves indoors. Moving around may help. This group doesn't particularly care if you do that.

Step 1, a coat is a nice and practical use of clothing that helps + it should have a lot of pockets if you do things right.
Step 2, gloves are nice and fingerless gloves are also quite good get some if you can afford them.
Step 3, ask your manager/supervisor, or whomever, if they can turn off/lower the AC, else if you could bring a space heater into your work area.
Step 4, if step 3 fails, ask your fellow coworkers if they too are bothered by the AC, if so come together to petition your boss for a temperature increase.
Step 5, if step 4 fails, organize your workplace and form a union whose first demand is to increase the temperature.
Step 6, if step 5 fails, organize a strike that will not end until your boss raises the temperature.

These are the general steps you should take to address the issue. Of course some are oversimplified, feel free to ask if you are confused on how to implement a step.

Solid advice that doesn’t involve starting a fire. And pockets as a bonus!

Wear fluffy sweaters, the fuzzy/furry kind. Those things are insulation magic.
Also yeah, go with wearing gloves.
I personally have some super cute pink fluffy ones with the those padded finger tip things so I can still swipe the screen on my phone. :blob_aww:
