Somebody shoot me. People on Royal Road are arguing that plot holes are good.

Am I crazy for thinking that if there was one thing every writer could agree was objectively bad, having a plot that doesn't make sense would be it?

Forums are not generally good for morale. RR Forums are especially bad for morale. Unless you're big fish that likes eating little fish.

From what little I see, he's not arguing plot holes are good. He's arguing plot holes and general inconsistencies do not matter, if they do not break a major element of the story, or if the rest of the story is good enough to carry it over - which I still do not agree with, but it's not as bad as telling someone their story would benefit from some plot holes.

They might not be saying they're good, but they're claiming that they shouldn't affect a person's enjoyment of a story and thus aren't worth fixing. And IMO that's just as bad.
