I just dropped a chapter of my story and I’m trying to improve my writing 🖤

I’d really love feedback on:
– pacing (does it feel slow or rushed?)
– characters (do they feel real?)
– emotional impact (did anything actually hit?)

Be honest, I can take it 🙂

When silence learned to speak
14 out of 17 respondents (currently) agree that character emotions need to be narrated through showing, rather than telling by mentioning raw emotions (sad, anxiety, etc).

Authors can narrate emotions organically (by showing) through body language, psychological reactions (tears, nausea, etc), action, dialogue, and atmosphere in a scene.

The goal is to make the reader experience the emotion with the character.

This can happen because the reader is actively involved in processing information with the character before concluding what the emotion is.

To check whether the desired emotion is felt by the reader, the author can ask the readers (feedback request): "What they feel after reading the scene?"

Time heals all wounds. If you're stilll hurt you haven't waited long enough.

Only emotional ones. Physical ones are more complicated.

Physical wounds especially heal with time. It may sound hard to believe but humans do in fact have healing factors. I suppose time won't heal a severed limb, but that's what prosthetics are for.
They say time heals all wounds, but that's wrong. Time only heals some wounds. Other wounds get bigger as time goes by, and even more are created by the passage of time.

There are wounds, and there are cancers. Wounds heal with time; Cancers breakdown who you are with that time.
You can sit and do nothing, and wounds will heal. Cancers need you to ask for help..
Learning about world history is a whole lot of

"This guy conquered one of the largest swathes of land in history, collapsing civilizations that lasted millennia while forming an empire that would last until his death 7 months later at age 19... while you, dear reader, are a failure who can't even fix a door hinge."
The hell is this

Me neither but for some reason it's now on top of the recent chapter updates of the front page.

Last night, I dreamt that I was an operative for an invasive force, and I raided a military compound. Then, I defeated a swarm of robot assassins alone and bare handed. After that, I cucked Anon and stole his wife. Lastly, I went to a store called "The Duck Pond", and I bought a live duck and named him Mister Quackers.

The darkest stain on the country's history, though a few others come close. The worst part is perhaps that nobody involved has faced any sort of consequences.

Remember seeing someone say somewhere that it's like walking into Germany and seeing that the Nazis won
