Your MC(s) get transported into the real world. How would they interact with you? Considering you made them.

They get transported, RE: Creators style, onto Earth. They will know you are basically the God of their world and caused every event to happen.

If they want to kill you, how would you get out of that situation?

Next: How would they interact with the world and would they have a mental breakdown knowing they were made just for entertainment?

I wouldn't even know that I'm dead :blob_melt:

How would they interact with the world
She's curious, so she would check things at her own pace and probably terrorize everyone around accidentally while not being aware of it.

would they have a mental breakdown knowing they were made just for entertainment?
Nah, I don't think so. I hope, at least.

Wow.
  • If Kelly (Strange Awakening) remained in a woman's body, he'd be pretty pissed unless the Sparrow powers came with him (if he was back in his original body he'd figure all of Strange Awakening was just a dream he had in the ICU, recovering from a gunshot and not really care beyond that).
  • Dane (Digital Cowboy) would try to find out how his sister was doing. If he could not find her, or she was crippled, still hospitalized or dead, he would probably savagely beat the crap out of me for making it happen. If he found her and discovered she was OK, he would have assumed he'd just gotten drunk one night while watching old movies and dreamt the whole thing.
  • Jack (Diamond in the Rough, Blood Diamond) would force me to write him back into his proper word, with words first, fists second.
  • David (Between Worlds) would just gate back home unless his magic didn't work here. He'd mope for a bit about losing contact with his friends, hoping Audrey might be able to track him down and get him back (or his daughter when she's old enough), but would probably soon discover games similar to the ones he knew on his Earth, friends, and a good job as a UI designer and get on with his life. Would be a little disappointed in me if he lost his magic but otherwise would not give a second thought about his author.
  • If Nathan (True Blue) came through with his full powers, he would just start over again; if he came through without them, he'd probably look for me for a good, long discussion about his background, why the stuff in the story happened to him, and how he got here.

#1 "Jack"
I want to claim otherwise, but since the story did not hiatus at a good spot, he is unlikely to look upon me with gratitude.
I believe he would either end my existence with an afterthought or torture me for days if not weeks. I don't think his actions would be entirely justified since the plot has a decent ending in store for him, and yet... Well. I doubt he would care.
And there would be nothing I could do. I am too much of a coward to shoot myself first.

Edit: I actually wrote this one. Don't read the story, it won't be completed any time soon, but the special what-if chapter can be read without context.

#2 "Arch"
He would not agree with the assertion that I created him. I am a mere mortal.
Therefore, it is possible that he would not show the slightest interest in me.
However, it is also possible that he might kindly invite himself into my home and graciously agree to spend some* of his valuable time studying me.
Of course, it would be an honor. Haha.

*The remainder of my lifespan

My main characters are vampires.
Vivienne is the oldest and most powerful. If she ended up here? Interesting. My books are set on a Supernatural Earth to boot.
Given how strong a character she is with attributes, attractiveness and personality - she probably wouldn't care.

She's pretty mentally stable so I couldn't see her breaking down.

She'd finally be able to turn me into a vampire. Then it's forever night surfing.

Given that this world is a mirror to her own, she wouldn't have much to adapt to.

The idea of her not being real and me creating her might pose a problem, that I think would unnerve any character. I'm thinking disbelief. Which is ironic given we don't believe in vampires.

I love this question.

Assuming they get to keep their real world ID and certifications but do not have family or friend connections.

Circe- Might snap and try to kill me at first, but eould be so happy to be removed from her situation she would go start a bookstore. Would probably force me to give her money.

Fedor- Would return to Russia and start a butcher shop. Would try to stay out of the war. He would not hold a grudge nor would the situation bother him too much. He'd start working out, try to slim down, and find a good woman.

Ebony- Would start a general practice in the states. No hard feelings. Would have trauma knowing her family doesn't exist in this world. But might start a new family. She might try to contact me with questions.

Mark- Would try to kill me if he couldn't return to police work. Is the kind to hold a grudge. If he could return to police work, I better never enter his jurisdiction.

Carson- Would get a part time job and try to survive. I would not want to bump into him.

Banko- Would return to office life and not care. Would consider having no family and the wiping of the slate of former contacts a boon.

Nickey- She would have assassin skills. And a grudge against being a character. She's also immature. I would be hunted down and killed off in a way that would never implicate her.

Kunchen- A pacifist. He would return to the moutians and meditate. This would all be part of the universal flow that he has little control over.

Zak- Would seek me out and slit my throat, then go back to Africa to set-up illegal poaching operations.

Mike- Would find himself a mental institution after having a complete meltdown but would be too insane to cause me any harm.

Shelly- Would remain Zak's love interest and follow him about.

Mandawuy- Returns to Australia and starts a business after these realizations hit. He'd fail to disuade Zak from murdering me and doing crime and might find himself back in the poaching operation if he is not careful.

Eduardo- Would become an alcholic and drink himself to death. With no friends in this world, his fate would be inevitable.

Valentin- Would not be bothered about the situation and treat this third reincarnation as a new start. Most likely would become a professional runner.

Lin- Might very well hold grudge. Would write songs about me with unflattering lyrics in her attempts to become a pop idol in this word.

Phaolo- Would stay by Lin's side and support her. That would be the most important thing for him.

Chien- After learning he was just a character from an obscure barely read webnovel he would hit the bottle hard. A high chance he'd snap out of it and use his credentials to return to the police force.

Sundara- Would be devestated that his family did not exist here. Would be relieved to not be a mascot character. He would return to school and work on becoming wealthy and powerful. Knowing that his author doesn't have power in this world, he would plan to contact me with many questions. But he would ultimately decide to let his grudges go.

Janel- One hundred percent hunt down the bastard and kill. She would be smart about too, making sure to build upon her life in this world to be powerful enough to make something happen through proxies.

Lizbet- Would return to compulsive gambling, but with no money she'd have to go to work. The weight of knowing would be hard on her. Eventually she'd end up insane, homeless, or in a bad relationship. Would kill me impulisively, but only if we met.

Darrone- Would seek out Megan first. Most likely would remain nuetral and try to get by using his blue collar skills and math ability to work for mining companies despite having died in a mining accident. He would not kill me, but would want answers.

Megan- Would go into a shelter and not come out unless someone cared enough to find her. The knowledge would break her at first but eventually she'd become numb and just try to survive.

Alfredo- He would be pissed. But since he had no family would find himself in the same situation but without his extensive connections. He'd become so involved rebuilding his life, working physical jobs that are a bit too demanding for him, and getting his shit together that he wouldn't have time for vengeance. If he found Circe, and also knew she was a character, he'd try to help her out and make sure she wasn't homeless.

Reasonable question, really.
To be fair, I decided to double down on the lolis as a joke. The first line of the book is, "I should buy myself an OP loli slave." Then proceed to get one and decide that turning her into a war machine is wrong. Becoming the best dad in the process. So, to shave off boredom I'm making all of the strong female characters loli's so he can get confused as to why the mmo he was playing suddenly have them everywhere.

I'm planning on giving him a Darth Vader NOOOO!!! moment when he gets to the NPC he liked. No big titty, glasses wearing, smart librarian, teasing gf for him. Now it's a smol, oversized sweater, awkward clutz loli.

80% of my protags are going to cause me a violent and terrible death. :sweating_profusely:

It wouldn't even be about what I've written, their just not good people...

How do I survive?

One of my protagonists canonically can just know that he's a character in a story, provided he ever receives the motivation to check.

I assume that would bias him towards viewing me as an equal, rather than as a god or something.

Most of my other protagonists I've ever written are *not good people*, and would definitely think less of me for being just 'a guy'.

As for wanting to kill me, they all have the means to do it, but most of them get pretty good deals out of the worlds I put them in. Ian in particular might try to kill me to see if it REMOVES his powers. Based on Re:creators logic it wouldn't, and he would know that.

As for mental breakdowns... Most of them are pretty neurotic in general, but I'd like to imagine the thing they'd struggle with isn't the 'created for entertainment' part, but instead the (gestures at general 2025ness) just like the rest of us.

My main novel is set in a near future Earth. Some of them were born in 2002. So I guess they just time travelled back to when they were 23? Maybe they'll tell their younger selves to transition. One of them was 11, and the other 6. For one of them, this is the year they fathered their elder daughter, which could be emotional.

If they meet me? I assume the youngest would resent me for how hard I make things for them. The other three would likely just vibe.

As for Nivi, the character of my survival horror litRPG? She's an Isekai reincarnator, so she'd get a second chance at life in a world she once knew. She might hate her body less this time (no crippling dysphoria), but she's definitely not human anymore, so she might have a hard time figuring out how to live in this world as a beastkin with magic powers.

At least she wouldn't have to fight monsters for food, and she could get clothes at the shopping mall, so her life would be vastly improved.

She'd probably be pissed at me for her very traumatic past and life. I assume she'd probably wish to fling me in the world she just escaped as some kind of revenge, but she's probably too good to follow through with it.

I think we could become friends, however, if she ever forgive me for writing her into existence.

Since my MC originally came from the real world, I think he’d just sigh and ask why after finding out I wrote everything just for fun. Maybe he’d get angry, but he definitely wouldn’t hit me.

On the other hand, I think my male lead would actually thank me… for reviving the MC just for him.

Alunya would be angry that I made his brother suffer so much, but he'd sigh and be happy that they got to stay together in the end. We'd mostly get along, I think; depends somewhat if he views my actions as intentional ones towards the characters or acknowledges it as a story that was never intended to have them really exist. Even with the latter, though, he would likely understand why it was necessary for the development of their personalities, even if he would wish it could have been a bit easier. He still ultimately got the kind of life he would like, so its not too dire.

He's not really the existentialist type, I don't think being made 'for entertainment' would strike him as any worse than being made 'for no reason at all'. So he'd shrug that off, I feel like.
