Of course he will win, he will knock them off. How can they play if they are not conscious? Win due to timer, ez.

It depends who she is facing, but if she is facing someone that regularly played yugioh she would lose. But if she is facing @Anon2024 or @Paul_Tromba she might have a chance.
I regularly play Yu-Gi-Oh. I do pretty well. Also, if it was against my MC, I would win without a doubt.

Topics like "If X from A interacted with Y from B in N circumstances, what'll happen?" are superfluous in the vast majority of cases - because they do not take into account things like in-universe boundary constraints.

For example, the MCs from both of my books will almost assuredly defeat the Yu-Gi-Oh challenger. Why? Because one MC is a competent wizard who could ask his even more powerful wizard wife to help him cast a spell that skews entropy and chance so heavily that winning becomes the only option for him. And the other two MCs come from a highly advanced future so they could use ultra cutting-edge AI probability analytics until - you guessed it - winning becomes guaranteed.

See the problem? There are no constraints imposed on this scenario, so a clever (or simply strong-headed) writer will always find a way to justify a win for their characters. (If said characters are heroic; if they're purposefully unheroic, that's another matter.)

Now, say if my MCs are hypothetically isekai-ed to the world of Yu-Gi-Oh, without any access to their special gimmicks or resources - that's another matter. Now we have a much more solid framework to engage with - the rules are the same for everyone, and the only difference are the internal perceptions of the transpositioned characters.

In which case, my MCs will probably fold, aka deny the challenge. They're very level-headed and grounded, and know for certain that they can't reasonably expect to win against an experienced player with mere two weeks of preparation. So they'll walk away. Or at least, two of them will; one of my MCs is a rather exuberant optimist and she'll probably accept the challenge purely for the fun of it.

Regards,
Sagacious

Maybe, since if he read all the rules, he might be able to understand it in time

BEST DECK

Why the heck, need preparation ?

The only preparation that batman could do. Is use millions dollars to make the challenger late with dozens of alternative plans.
Or "use a gun". Which is cheaper.

Having 0 Yugioh experience… probably not. Now, if the entire main party counts, then everyone loses except one of my characters who is the sealed god of reality… Just bend reality so that everything works out!
