So I'm trying to write my own story. I've already done some drafts. But I have a question. Can I post it on both Webnovel and Scribblehub? Will there be any problem with copyright or something like that? I've realized my username is slighly different in both platforms
webnovel: EmberBlood
scribblehub:Ember_Blood

I might just continue with one platform later on..but for now I want to go with both.. I hope somebody answers.

From what I understand, some sites have exclusivity rules, but this site is not one. I believe one of the reasons why a lot of people dislike Webnovel is that it DOES.
There are a few stories posted to, say, this site, Royal Road and Space Battles (I am probably going to do the same once I get more familiar with how Patreon works, so I can, hopefully, justify the time spent writing and cross posting).

IIRC, webnovel has you sign over your publishing and IP rights if you sign up for monetization. Scribblehub and Royalroad don't have monetization, but also don't require you to sign over ownership. Amazon has exclusive publishing rights, but you keep your IP and copyright.

Nothing like that comes into effect unless you sign an exclusivity contract. Until then, you are good to go.

I heard WebNovel won't advertise your story, so the exposure would be miniscule. The best thing you can do is to ditch WebNovel and went to Royal Road instead

Yes, you can upload it to any site you'd like so long as you hold the copywrite. I upload mine here, and on RoyalRoad and Wattpad as well (even tho wattpad is dead dead)

Yes you can, try to publish on Royalroad first though, as the process can be a little more involved if the novel was published somewhere else before, They run all kind of checks to make sure you are the real author and not copying it.
When I started publishing I first wrote here, then published to Royalroad a month later and Webnovel afterwards. After they sent me a crappy scam contract I stopped posting there though!
But IMHO, here is the best place to publish, the community is really good, and novel discovery is excellent! (Royalroad seemed to have shadow banned my novel after some problem with the content( ehm... Lolis....), Although the matter was sorted out, it no longer appeared on the trending list)

RR is covering itself.
One thing you have to look at is legal protection. There are various things that might cause problems and some sites want to avoid them.
Things that can cause problem include copywrite violations (which is why they check to make damn sure the person copying it over is the owner.)
Lolis and Shota are a different matter. These can depict minors in relationships. Some people consider it only a matter of time before governments ban stories with that, like they did with drawings.
If a site hosts stories that contain that, then they may face legal issues. They are just planning ahead there.
They may be overzealous, but I can't blame them: imagine you are on a single site and getting money from donations and maybe had a deal for publishing, and suddenly the site goes done because of legal issues. Since it was already out there, you might be unable to easily prove you own it to other hosts, and you would have lost your audience.

Another issue is the audience the site has. Some sites focus on romance and others on horror. RR seems to focus on Isekai and Dungeon Core.

I remember the mass exodus of fanfic writers from FanFiction.Net when it lowered its sign-up age limit to include a younger audience in 2012, so basically all the hentai-themed fanfics (including the loli ones) and other fanfics with adult themes were taken down. Hence, those fanfic writers went over to AO3. I remember this was a huge deal back then, which is one of the reasons I went over to Wattpad before the purge in 2011.

Then, seven years later, the forums in Wattpad went caput over such BS reasons (social discrimination and bullying moderators; honestly, I think Wattpad really shot itself in the foot when it took down its own forum) that I just went over to RoyalRoad and later to ScribbleHub. I like it here; it's very homely here, like when Wattpad was when I first started out in 2011. That's why I'm staying here.
