Well, I decided to make this thread for those who might be looking for other platforms to upload their works. If there's a violation in site rules for doing this, (or a similar thread) please feel free to have it deleted.

In any case, I don't mean bad for doing this.

So yeah, here are some other sites you can look into if you want to expand your audience. Please do take note that most of what is written here is based only in my experience.

The Major Sites (or so I think)

1). RoyalRoad - pretty much for litRPG, but infamous for its blunt (and sometimes unreasonable) readers. Excellent UI.

2). ScribbleHub - smut and gender-bender. Better (and more forgiving) community than RoyalRoad. Honestly, SH is the go-to of authors who evacuated from RoyalRoad. UI is similar to RoyalRoad but I think it's better with the feature that lets you connect your other stories into one universe.

3). Wattpad - though it's been the largest writing community before, now it's pretty much dead. A lot of stories that cater to ladies. Excellent UI.

4). FanFiction - dead site. Even when I was uploading subpar stories back then, no one dissed me. As in zero interaction. They say it's used to be one of the largest writing communities before though...

5). WebNovel - pretty huge site, though attracting readers to a non-paid work (like mine) is difficult. If you entered a contract with them, you might as well be dead, for you'll be forced to spit out 1k words minimum a day. UI sucks too. But you can answer your critics, and they can't hide behind the 'It's my Review!' reason.

They say that some of WN subs are robots. Well, here's my experience: there's this one time when I woke up and found that my story got 900 subs in a day. Then, I realized, it must be some kind of a bug, since for an entire week, it kept on increasing and decreasing by hundreds.

Yes, it can happen in WebNovel.

Other Sites

1). HoneyFeed - it's like Wattpad Lite, catered to anime and light novel fans (like me). My only problem with its UI is that, you can't upload in-chapter illusts, and limit is only three (four if you have a separate cover) images per book.

2). Pixiv - yep, there's a novel feature in Pixiv. UI is pretty confusing, and formatting is nearly non-existent. You can upload images though (up to 30 per chapter, though I think you should just make a comic if you'll upload 30 images in one chapter).

3). Penana - pretty weird UI, and stories mostly cater to K-Pop fans. Memorable to me because an old user there accused me of stealing my own artwork. How can he tell? He saw it in his dreams. (Yes, I don't know what drugs he took.)

4). Inkitt - pretty nice simple UI but you can't upload images, save for the book cover. Stories cater to ladies, so I only use this site to format my manuscript.

5). Syosetsu - I don't know why many are surprised I'm uploading my English story in a Japanese site like Syosetsu. Well, I have readers there. Japanese feedback is pretty nice (and polite), but yes, the problem of language barrier exists. I don't MTL my work, btw. I upload it there as is. UI is similar to WebNovel, and Pixiv, but you can upload images inside the chapters. You'll need a separate Mitemin account to do that though.

And yes, Google Translate can help you navigate the site.

6). CreativeNovels - ugh...if you think WebNovel UI is bad, I think CN is worse. Nevertheless, you can upload images in chapters. And there's this weird feature in that site where your story can 'earn' money. I don't know if it's legit though, since of all the months I stayed there, not a cent came into my account (even though I got readers there).

Well, those are the sites that I experienced so far. Feel free to add yours for others' benefit. And yeah, everything I wrote here are my opinions. I don't care about yours, so it's futile to argue with me.

ScribbleHub - fantasy>isekai>LitRPG>GB>smut. Also important to note that only male to female GB are popular.

The webnovel agreement is now 1.5k words a day.

Ritoria is also a fairly new site but mainly caters to BL and smutty dime novel romance that if published 30 years ago would feature Fabio on the cover. Their paid program seems pretty legit but the reader base seems like the bastard child of a Royal Road reader and a Wattpad reader. Seriously judgemental but only when the story isn't pandered to their tastes.

This + GL make the GB and GL pointless.
I'm not sure if I understood you, but GB does relatively well without GL and even without both GL and the tag Girl's Love Subplot. However, if you exclude fantasy, GB does significantly worse.

I mean, what's the point of becoming a girl if you're still going to bang a girl? Let's not continue this discussion/hijacking.

@Hans.Trondheim have you heard of Neovel.io?

There is this one site called Dreame, ask @Agwrites for more details. There seems to be a lot of Filipino in that site as well.
Dreame caters to lady readers. I didn't put Dreame here because I rejected their contract before (similar reasons to why I rejected WebNovel) and I didn't get to use their platform.

Another site to note is SofaNovel, with the same sucky contract conditions and UI as well. Dreame is more 'established' than SofaNovel though.

There's this one fantastic site for Filipino authors, Booklat, but now it's just catering to lady readers. Besides, I don't like uploading and catering to my countrymen nowadays...I might end up a communist.

Nope, not yet. Feel free to add it here. ?

I think the book 'Janus Silang' (if you're familiar with that) came from Booklat? I dunno, I'm not sure about that, @Oreo

I am surprised you missed Tapas.
It has both Novel and Comic features, meanwhile Comic is relatively more popular there.

I do get views and a few subscribers from time to time. Some Lurker readers often drop by to like...
Pretty decent I guess.

There's also Moonquill.
I wonder if it's still working or dead.

Upload your works carefully, just don't do it in Tapas.

Nah, I didn't upload my work in Tapas.

My chapters are 4k words long on average, see? And there's this image feature that keeps rejecting my illustration, no matter how much I resize it according to their specs.

I got a manga there before, but I have to take it down for political reasons.

“Huge” fakes views and existing multiplying views by a factor of 30.

Wattpad was my introduction to online writing then tried Tapas then Royal Road. I also have a Scribophile account but I've been there mainly for the forums ( You can't post your stories unless you garner points by critiquing other works) Basically, it seems that it really is a serious site to really polish your works. I've seen some published authors drop their story im Scribophile to help with edits before they put it out there) With Tapas, I had to keep my chapters short. Most of the time, I end up dividing a chapter into 3 parts to keep each upload at 500 to 1000 words.
Wattpad was great until the forums went out. I just mostly stay there for the authors I've been following. I will come back to posting there after I finish my story and have the time to translate it to Filipino.
With Royal Road, I tried my luck despite knowing that Fantasy and LitRPG are the main draws in there (Mine story is sort of a slow burn coming of age story) Did quite better than I expected, but I stopped because I surmised I will come back to posting there when I finish my story. Long hiatus would kill the readership? I think. With forums, I like the forums there.
Also on Sweek, but I got an error message the last time I went in. Figment used to be fine until they rebranded into Underlined which mostly serves as a sort of magazine than a site to post stories. I mean, stories are still posted there but there seems to be no people visiting or reading anmore there.
I was also on Booklat some years ago, but I think I stopped going because I didn't like the interface. It was hard to use.
I am also on Honeyfeed but I'm yet to post anything. Also on Ritoria but still seeing how others' experiemces there will turn out, was about to post but I paused because there was this post here on the forums about the copyright policies there so I'll just see how things turn out.
Didn't touch Inkitt and Dreame because of some thigs I heard about their contracts.
Also on this site called WebKom but it is mostly a comic site catered for Filipinos, still a rookie site.

I've only read three stories on Ao3 but the tagging system is great, goes on detail on what you can expect and has a feature, kinda lika a hide spoiler feature which allows you to skip scenes that are too triggering or sensitive and just read the recap of said scene.Ao3 is great if you do Fanfiction.
Webnovel, I've heard too many things about it that I would not touch it with a ten-foot pole.

I think I've been on too many sites but can't help but check out the sites you said are for the ladies even though my story has no romance in it.

Yeah, they offered it to me a while ago and I refused. This was part of the reason why I left it.
Lol, I'm climbing Ritoria's charts. I'm only posting there until the novel is complete then I'll move away from all web novels in general and write something actually good.

But I don't think they have a reader base. Most of my views are from people who followed me over from SH. I'll re-post it back on SH once I finish it and don't care about ratings motivating/demotivating me from finishing the story.

They have a reader base but it isn't as big as most established sites. I'm glad that you're doing well there. I was actually happy with Ritoria and felt like they had a good UI and userbase (for the most part) but I left because I wanted to publish my story properly and their contract was too vague to allow me such liberties if I signed. It isn't shady but it did hinder the chances of an official publication.
