In that case, that's the purpose of it, but again, it's more to win that fight above all else. When focusing on what the micro-goal is and to more focus on a core action, not the purpose of the action. Like how with Mecha Man example, it is related to the bigger goal of capturing Shroud, but more I find focusing on micro stuff that make up that. What a wonderful video! So very insightful! Very much appreciated!
It does leave me a bit confused as to how my story Voidlight might stand though... on one hand its technically an action opening scene.
But I do include about 600 words of exposition and world setting, and due to some of my nuances its hard to answer some of the questions to test:
"Is the goal limited to THIS scene (not "save the world" or other story-level objectives)?"
Since the characters are in a fight that dictates the fate of the world. Kind of both?
Then when we move onto the emotion visibility or their behaviors, again its hard to tell because they aren't bound by human emotions at that point in the story.
Though I must say that it is impossible for my opening action to not feel "Hollow".Because one of the mc's name is literally Hollow
