You know when you wrote this super good and detailed part for your story then later you find out it can’t, and won’t match with your story without changing a lot of things, so you must go and rewrite it, you know it won’t work, but you work so much on it that you feel bad for deleting it.

Its ok. It happens. Multiple scenarios but when finally start get down to serious business, that's when we find plotholes here and there, inconsistencies, comparisons to other stories on terms of similarity, etc.

Save it in a folder for random junk. You can pull that story piece out when you feel you need to rummage for something you already did. Or, take snippets of that story to mold it into another story. Or just create a 1 shot chapter story for it, thats noncanon but at least its out there.

Editing is the hardest part for some writers. That's why many hire editors.

If you worked really hard on that, I would advise you to save it in somewhere. Things like that are invaluable to writers. It's your wordings that were wrapped to perfection in your own style. You will never be able to reproduce something like that again. It's a one in a timeline (not lifetime).
Save it. You can find a way to use it later on.

Can relate, especially as a comedy author. Sometimes you come up with a real funny scenario but it won't fit in your story...sadge
