Context:

A shop tries to sell you a lucky bag, telling you that the thing inside is at best worth USD80 and maximum it can go is USD160.

But then, you will need to pay the arbitrary price, only known when you choose to "buy" the bag. There is a lower limit of USD30 and an unknown upper limit of how much it will cost.

Would you want to buy the bag?

Resale is typically 25 % original unless you know the market. So I kick the guy in the balls and steal his stuff for trying to rip me off.

I prefer to calculate my risks, so this one's a 'no'.

I don't know who's the troll that voted yes.

I also forget to mention that there is a non-zero, maybe even 50% chance of receiving an empty bag but still need to pay the price.

Tell me what's the upper limit, then I will do math.

Most lucky bags are disappointing. I rather spend that money on other things.

I don't understand at all, like, the bag cost $80 and value can range from $30-160?

The bag itself has money inside, can be 80 to 160 dollars, or it can be empty.

You can buy the bag at a price, the price is only reveal after you want to buy the bag. The price varies from 30 dollars to above 500 (just assume highest amount is 500)

Assuming you are very lucky, you get the bag and inside it is 160 dollars and a note to say that you have to pay 30 dollars. Net earn 130 dollars.

I'd just steal the bag since I'm never going back to this hypothetical shop anyway.
