Some cliche done well can make a novel enjoyable while there those nightmare cliches that gives readers headaches and you definitely drop a novel because of them
Sigh this one is worse in those chinese harem novelsNot dropped, but more like a massive eye roll.
When meeting a random person, and that person is the heir or owner of a massive conglomerate or noble house.
I tried calling mine seems am not fated for the systemGame-like level system and floating status screens.
One thing that annoye me is the,Kill the young master/heir or whatever wannabe it is then the elder appears after finishing him the bloody ancestor appear .... there is a novel called invincible conquerer it has the most killed young masters, elders and those ancestors i have ever seen by mcIn Chinese novels that are designed for misunderstandings and underestimating MC, there will always be stuck up seniors.
Which is par for the course, but what made it worse for me was that:
A. the teachers who are supposed to help MC in furthering his study/ quest will always be one of the many and greatest roadblocks. As a teacher, they are supposed to help MC learn things, instead they will often refuse to teach MC anything, constantly downplay his achievements or even pass them to their favorite pet in class or straight up trying to get MC expelled or killed for even trying to do their best.
B. MC, upon being better than these teachers, can't kill them because of shitty Chinese traditions and these god-forbidden waste of space of teachers will abuse the hell out of it.
It is the same reason why I hated Death Mage Van did not straight up go and kill the reincarnated teacher. Not killing the bloody uncle and his wretched family is one thing (no choice), not killing this teacher who is a cunting bastard elitist fuck is another thing.
Some time i lurk in the websites to see if new flesh trends may appear only to be brutally slapped with the cliches i hateSome trends are popular and considered cliche.
Some trend are now already out of popularity and nobody would call it cliche anymore due to how rare it is used nowadays.
I won't call mine. I'm human, not some game character cut-out.I tried calling mine seems am not fated for the system

Hey, don't shoot me! (The self-pity part, not the breakup one)those dumbass protagonists who would abruptly break up with someone because their self esteem is so goddamn low they couldn't imagine themselves as someone capable of being loved but instead of therapy I get to suffer for up to 40 chapters of misunderstandings and self pity
That is pitiful.... reading someone going into self pity path is not something i would want too and don't get me started on the misunderstandingthose dumbass protagonists who would abruptly break up with someone because their self esteem is so goddamn low they couldn't imagine themselves as someone capable of being loved but instead of therapy I get to suffer for up to 40 chapters of misunderstandings and self pity
Same...i cringe eveytime the author describe how handsome mc is...his phoenix eyes etc....don't get me started on jade beautiesHow a person is described often tells me the type of novel that I'm reading, and this is prevalent in fanfictions. Whenever characters are introduced, and too much emphasis is put on their looks and how attractive they are, it's an instant turn off for me, especially concerning women.
Also, I don't know if it's got anything to do with age, but as I got older, I started to appreciate those MCs who are just average-looking and blend in instead of sticking out wherever they go. Yes, I like protagonists who don't get b***ches and are totally fine with it.
And while I do like overpowered protagonists, man I can't help but cringe whenever they're always outshining others.
It get worse in my case if the system is sentinel....that develops into a lame comedy between the character and the systemCharacter just innately knowing to call system and when they do it appears.
Average Joe gets a harem.
Pointless drama that can be ended in like five words. Some cliche done well can make a novel enjoyable while there those nightmare cliches that gives readers headaches and you definitely drop a novel because of them
Sounds like a random New Yorker. Not dropped, but more like a massive eye roll.

Dense doormat are typical japanese betas...how this combination can rizz the ladies is beyond me lolAutistic MCs some how having the rizz to get a harem while being a dense doormat.
Teens and young adults having the skills, power, and mindset to save the world.
Nobles being either money grubbing racist slavers, or boy scouts with no middle ground.
Shrugging of broken bone injuries like they're flesh wounds.
Lol the New York subway you can find a random millionaireTsunderes
Sounds like a random New Yorker.
Especially when the author drags useless misunderstandings that develops into the pointless dramas that could have been solve by 5 wordsPointless drama that can be ended in like five words.
The author doesn’t build up the characters but just uses common 2d cliches for every character, not because that is the joke, not because there will be further charchter dev, but because that is that.
Things that uncritically includes slave harems, the solution is slavery, slavery is good for the slave actually, etc.
When the plot, dialogue, characters, etc. are actually just references to other popular media, and there is little if no originality to the story.
A story that randomly goes off on tangents that are incorrect, incoherent, and/or not relevant to the story or character development in any way. I.E. the MC saying that homeless people deserve to die because they are bums in which the narrator and the other characters agree when the MC and characters exist in a small town in a fantasy world with no exposure to homelessness or contact to the outside world. (Actually read a story that did that…) or the essays in Les Miserables.
Speaking of therapy, most problem would be solve by just visiting a therapist.those dumbass protagonists who would abruptly break up with someone because their self esteem is so goddamn low they couldn't imagine themselves as someone capable of being loved but instead of therapy I get to suffer for up to 40 chapters of misunderstandings and self pity
