So I recently did a drawing for my FF and I ended up with two versions, one in black and white with plenty crosshatching and such and then I did one with soft watercolors to give it a bit of color and now I can't decide which I like more...and when I asked around there was only mixed opinions so I thought about giving it a shot to ask these parts.

Which one do you like more.

Which is in black and white. without the color, and Version 2

Where I fiddled aorund giving it a bit of a washed out, watery-color feel to it.

B/w cause the watercolor is too clean (fills out the lines almost perfectly) and even to look like watercolor. I can see some texture if I zoom in, but overall it looks very smooth. I’d say it’s more marker like instead of watercolor.

Mhh....that was not supposed to have been happened, it looks a lot more textured on my tablet :blob_sweat:

But happens I guess. Still I would love an opinion of you prefer it black and white or with the color.

B/w = black and white

the hair of the woman already is dark blue, that’s enough color imo

I look at it on my phone rn, so that may be the reason I can’t see the texture clearly, but when I do watercolor irl I aim for color edges and colors of different opacity when stacking layers. This it what makes me think “this is watercolor”

Mhhh....well I admit I am still working on getting it closer to pen on paper look.

But it is good to know that I need to do see to it that there will be more more texture to properly on a phone.

B/W... though the transition between their clothing could be a little more defined... at the waist anyways

I'm more inclined to like the black and white more (hardcore manga enjoyer here).
