I just noticed that a once popular work was deleted, its title was Souls in Teyvat. Do you know why? It had hundreds of chapters. From an author's perspective, it's a waste of hours writing that. I haven't read it, so it got me curious.

From what I gathered, the author deleted his work everywhere and disappeared from the internet, supposedly for a few years. If he had a specific reason, it was not made public.

Apparently you can read most of the story at NovelNext.

ok, his work is still on patreon, i will say what happened, he apparently will quit internet for some months or years because of studies, work and maybe stress, he is still posting chapters because he doens't want people that paid patreon to be scammed, so when the next batch of chapters end, he will remove his patreon too, i recommend going to sites where it is still there or go for his patreon.

You sure your information is up to date? I specifically checked Patreon as well, there's nothing available unless I somehow got the wrong author. I think he already removed his Patreon as well.

well, some time already passed since i last checked his patreon so he may already left. but this is what happened
