i dont wanna wait, i wanna fight, real time fight. action combat is also turn based but real time. is up to you to attack or not.
is just GO, MOVE, BRING THE ACTION.

breath of fire as a action combat could be amazing
the visuals are stunning

Breath of Fire 4
a video game where the enemy is scorpion 11

i wanna do this
Tales of Symphonia - Lloyd 62 Hit Combo on Make a GIF
God Hand Video Games GIF - God Hand Video Games Gaming - Discover & Share GIFs

just fight me
there is no turn
approach me and fight me to death
i wanna bully my enemies. i dont wanna wait to attack them
I WANNA PUNCH KICK THEM IN THE FACE
and they will fight back, and we gonna fight to the bones

"sir you can attack now"

no, i refuse, just kill me then
i rather die to wait
destroy me

the visuals are so amazing imagine this fight with action real time combat

you can jump, double jump, slice the big bug in half, kick him in the ass, feeling like you are indeed fighting the bug,but with buttons

imagine thinking turn based RPGs are literally people standing there waiting their turn like its the DMV :blobrofl:

next you're gonna say chess shouldnt involve turns and instead you just grab all your pieces in your hand and shove them like a pile against your opponent. like banging together action figures

Quite a few of the more recent turn-based games have implemented a system where each attack has a delay after use, so the order changes over time.
Use an attack that has a delay of 10 cycles? Meanwhile, the guy who used an attack with only a two-cycle delay hits you four times.
Some of them take it a step further, with certain attacks having a charge time as well.

Then there's one of the biggest offenders: Pokémon. Rules like "you only get four moves," "a team is composed of six Pokémon," and "we'll take turns, attacking each other" are only possible with a gentleman's agreement.

As for tabletop games, there it's mostly a matter of necessity, because the chaos would be impossible to manage in real time. That said, for Dungeons and Dragons, one round of combat (one turn for every character) is considered to be six seconds.
