So while I've been scrolling through this forum, I realised I have not seen a single anime-style art but most authors in this site clearly likes using them for their webnovels' cover, and I'm pretty sure most people now prefers anime-style art than uhh... realistic art...? I mean even ai-generated art used for covers were in anime style

Is it just because I've only been here since today or I'm missing something?

Here's some I drew to show what I meant by anime art

well, you can showcase your own art through storytelling as well.

Like, you know, there's an upload image icon in the writing space.

Anime art is decently popular and greatly appreciated.

Anime artists are, however, quite rare.

Most writers in the West don't have the skill to draw their own artwork, unlike in the East, where mangaka is both artist and writer.

It costs money to hire a genuine artist, and a tiny site like this one is unlikely to be frequented by people who could spend a lot of money on the art made by actual professionals. Not to mention, the covers could get rejected. It is not feasible to pay for the expensive cover art when you aren't even guaranteed it would be approved, and bring the story the views it wants.

I draw my own anime art, but I'm not very good since I'm self-taught. I guess the main reason there aren't any on SH is because of specialization. Writers like to write, artists like to art draw, and there aren't many who just happen to like doing both.
