Why is 2D better than 3D?

Couldn't you also argue that the unpredictability of a 3D person is exactly what makes them lovable?

Like you can never expect what's going to come out of their mouth, so every day is like an adventure! :blob_paint:
That's a nice way of looking at it, but I'm really more of someone who prefers predictability and routine in life. Not in all cases, but I generally am a person who likes routine a lot more than say, my friends or my family.

Plus, I think I'm a bit of a control freak and can have streaks of being a bit overbearing. Definitely not the most pleasant traits to show to a 3D girl. Well, not so much to the point of not entertaining other ideas, but I just hate being ignored or being told "No." I also can be stubborn and like things having done my way. Like in a video or card game, I feel a lot better if I win on my own terms with my favorites instead of doing it the more efficient way or using the "stronger" characters. It's not that I will hate or not acknowledge the latter, but it just feels more satisfying with the former.

You're not wrong overall, but the unpredictability just something that I prefer less given my personality. Plus, with a waifu, I don't have to worry much about presentation or my awkwardness turning people off.

The way real people look doesn’t register very well in my brain. Like, I can tell people apart but I don’t look at someone and think they look better than the others unless there’s a massive gap. Like, most people’s hair looks the same to me. With 2D I can judge easier. Their personalities are displayed by what they do and they get the opportunity to do things I find attractive. None of the people I know have those moments because, y’know. We’re normal ass people.

Fantasies are better the more abstract their mediums are.

Say for example: books. Lovecraftian stuff shines in this regard mainly because of how many things his story opts to "describe" instead of "show". The man only told us what we should feel, and gave us free reign to imagine what sort of monstrosity would make us feel LIKE that.

And then you have visual mediums of both 2D and 3D. 2D shines better than 3D in terms of fantastical content solely because the cracks show themselves even more when things are presented with width, height and depth.

Your favourite waifu might have 1990s Teen Titan Starfire hair with Godzilla ass tiddies. With 2D mediums the author has the privilege to alter her looks to whatever poses they so desire. Even during shots where the waifu would undoubtedly look bad, with the power of exaggerated anatomy, she'd look just as well as Jesus on a Sunday.

Then you have 3D, which are run on pre-built models and heavily reliant on animations to be able to be presented. Within this medium the cracks fall further. Though they have their leeway with the models, they don't have as much versatility as 2D and text does. What they do have, is visual clarity, and their greatest strength are also their greatest weakness. The product, now clearer, shows their downsides as much as well.

Case in point: the 2016 Berserk adaptation. Nothing much to be said about it, other than we don't talk about it.

Next case in point: the Beastars adaptation. The anime is great, don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't capture the atmosphere and artstyle Paru Itagaki put in her original manga. Her heavy, thick, yet gentle, Disney-esque vibe was replaced with decent backgrounds and competent animations. It's not that the anime is bad; it's only that the manga is superior.

That is, unless your character is born from 3D itself. Some husbandos I've seen are born out of that medium (Transformers, Dante from DMC) but compared to the mounds of 2D husbandos (Persona franchise ALONE), 3D simply can't compete.
