I'd like to start a thread for people here because I just happened to catch an episode of an old 70s children's show called "Villa Alegre", and they interviewed several kids (who are likely in their 60s and 70s now), and asked what they really like about themselves. I was tearing up a bit watching this, because I've had a few friends commit suicide in my life, and I just never understood why they did it.

I don't know how a lot of people are feeling these days, but think of this as a "cheer up" thread of sorts, a reminder that your life is amazing, and unique, and sometimes you just want to share a little bit of yourself, why you like yourself.

So, here goes, and I hope others will jump on ye olde bandwagon and not leave me hanging. *^^*

List one thing you really like about yourself. *^^*

I think I like myself mostly because I tell a story easily. I get that from my uncle, who would often put me to sleep at night with a story of a princess and her cat. Her cat always had to come to the princess' rescue too. ? So, yeah, I'm a natural born storyteller.

You are challenging the introverts here.

I like how I don't think too hard about stuff. I've been able to bullrush through everything in life and experience a plethora of events that I wouldn't have. Think of a more unhinged Yes Man. My morals and ethics seem to be lower than others compared to them.

I try hard not to overthink things. It's difficult because my brain is going in many directions. I don't think I'm on any kind of spectrum, nor do I think I had any attention disorder. I just... like to think. *shrugs* ?

I would love to write four novels. Maybe with SH's help, I finally will. *

Well you seem to have a wonderful collection of tales (not to mention tails) in your catalogue as well! :s_smile:

(Just for the record I did mean to say 'wrote', not 'had published' - Maybe I'll get there one day, but for now I'm speaking to the personal achievement :)

Right, I've only had two that have been published. *^^* Well, no, I guess if you count the non-fiction work, hmm, okay seven books published. These are mostly management books, a digital camera and photography book, and three market research books. Boring stuff. lol.

And just writing a fiction book is an accomplishment too.

Honestly, there are more things I dislike about myself than things I like about myself. If asked one thing I like about myself, I would probably say that at least I honestly write about my imperfections and weave them into a fictional narrative. The novels I write actually contain the voices of my complaints, whether they are about human values, personal limitations, and social issues that I ignore. That's why my novels are dark, heavy, philosophical, and full of self-reflection, instead of entertaining readers with wishfulfillment. So yes, I'm glad at least I'm honest with myself.

I... think I'm funny? Most of the time? Sometimes? Maybe...? ??
I think humor is probably one the greatest gifts we can have. *^^*

Honestly, there are more things I dislike about myself than things I like about myself.
That's quite normal to feel that way. I usually tell people who feel that way to try to think about any advantages or positive aspects of the dislikes and see what you discover about yourself you might not have before. *^^*

Something else I love about me, I think, as I watched a trailer for a zombie movie just now.

I was a zombie in the original "Dawn of the Dead". Not many people in the world can say that. ? ?
