Why did you create your stories? And what motivates you to continue?

As you can read from my name, I'm an NTR addict and that's what motivated me.

I've always read all kinds of stories that have this theme, be it netori (stealing other people's wives), netorase (sharing one's own wife) and netorare (having one's own wife stolen) and these stories had something in common: They were always short and most authors abandoned them after 5, 10 or 15 chapters. This really irritated me because I wanted to know how the story continued but it was abandoned and that was it.

So I decided to write my own story to see what it's like on the other side. And I realized that it's very difficult. I must have started at the beginning of 2024 and since then I've written 120k words and 50 chapters. (I only recently started migrating my story from another platform to here).

So I realized that it's very difficult to write, the scenes are sometimes not clear, the ideas may not appear right away. Sometimes you think of something that is brilliant but then realize it is crap. Sometimes you create plot holes and when you try to solve them you create even more holes. It is very difficult, but I still keep posting new chapters.

Today my motivation is to create a story that someone can read and think "This is it. Finally something that hasn't been abandoned and has some quality".

And you, what motivates you and why did you start?

Polyamory and sex work, my own experiences and observations about stigmas. Now I have a toddler and don't have energy to write, but the goal is ultimately to shape the culture we live in, so I am motivated to return to it at some point.

Coz there is one scene in it i want to write, and it's fuckin awesome.
That's it, nothing like writing down something brilliant that popped into your head and then admiring your own creation.

I read the first two chapters of your story and really liked it. When you have time and energy, continue because I'm sure some readers are eager to read it.
For me, I write to be recognized. It matters not if only one person likes and recognizes my writing. ?
That's it, a good review, a like, a comment. It really is something very nice.
Honestly, it's a combination of highly specific standards and an excess of creativity and free time. I could spout the whole "self-expression" and "nerds, unite!" manifesto, but let's be honest, we know that already.
I wanted this creativity, sometimes my mind goes blank and I have to squeeze until a drop of creativity comes out.

I was reading stories here, specifically transformation and gender bender the ones i found were good or decent. But i wanted more details and some did explore certain parts but forgot or didn't address other topics. So i got so annoyed that i wrote two chapters to see if i could even do it.

Sorta liked it, posted them here and boom, i accidentally created something i and others liked. From there i developed the story more, planned plot points and lore.

As for motivation, I've just done it long enough that's kinda part of my daily schedule now. Plus I don't want to make my readers or myself sad by not putting something out. It's important to me that i keep it up. Sure there’s moments i don't want to do certain chapters that build up to important plot points but i remind myself the build up is what makes the climax interesting.

Of course I take breaks and do other things. Every parent wants go out without the kids from time to time.

Certain tropes and fetishes that I want to write my way, 'cause they either aren't done tastefully, not enough of them, or I had too many of them inside my head and I want to release them for the masses to enjoy too.

I, for example, love tomboys, princely girls, handsome ones, even.
We had a fair share of them ever since Casca appeared in Berserk, but it's not enough.
What we had enough of, however, is the infamous Harem genre, 'cause who doesn't fantasize about dating and marrying the women of your love life?
And with all of that said, you know what I haven't come across yet? Tomboy Harem. Practically non-existent, and unless someone points me to one, I will make one such story myself the way I want for it to be — Tastefully.

Of course, I have so many other pet peeves I want to write and share to others, like the lack of novels revolving around parkours and freerunning, stories about the nature of the many beliefs we have from the present and the past, and enthusiasm for original settings in Isekais — like, why can't I get one within the mythical realms of Indonesia? - or the floors of the sea featuring the Trench of Mariana? And so on, and so forth.

Motivations? Boredom, Spite, Excitement, Sadness, and so many other emotion of the day is what kept me going.
Also, numbers go up, me likey.

Honestly, I look at all the garbage on webnovel and realize that as long as you continue pumping out chapters or give it a proper conclusion. It doesn't matter how bad it was; someone is going to have enjoyed it. When I click on the smut tag and view the 20 most popular stories on this site, I see on that list two stories by the same author that are both awful, but he keeps posting, so no matter how bad the writing gets, there are people invested in his work. I don't even leave a review because to give that author a fair shot, I'd have to read more than what I have (I read 86 chapters of one and 32 chapters of the other), and I can't bring myself to do it; the stories are just sitting in my "paused" reading list. His character development, dialogue, and plotlines are awful (his story concepts all have potential though).

I started "writing" when I realized I was too poor to buy all the books I wanted to read. Free novels online are great, but sometimes the amazing stories have publishers.

As for what motivates me, nothing really.

I have this idea for a whole damn story and I want to share it with someone. So what better way to do it than write it all down. The badass scenes I have planned it are what motivates me to carry on

Well, during the covid pandemic I had nothing to do, I was bored and I started reading light novels, I liked many of them, and I said “I would like to do a story like that” but their characters were trash and the tropes gave me cancer.
Then during a conversation with a friend, I got angry because he called me “you talk a lot but you don't do anything”, so I wrote a pilot chapter.
I showed it to my friend and he liked it a lot, he showed it to other people he knew and they also liked it.
Then they asked me for more and I got curious to do the story, I did vol 1 and they really liked it “it's like reading an anime novel but it doesn't make me angry with the stupid decisions of the characters”.
That's how I started writing because I like it, I consider it a drug, I want to spend writing, but the body gets tired faster.
My favorite genres will always be these: shounen, seinen, action, adventure, comedy, fantasy, occasionally sci-fi, and mainly ecchi and harem.
Right now I'm developing an R18 otome game genre novel, my only problem is if the capture targets will be enemies or friends?
