Writing isn't about you, it is about that person on the other side of your monitor. You simply think that if you write, you'll be rewarded for it someday. Whatsoever, it isn't so simple. You think that because you're having fun that you should keep on writing. I've seen writers who love to say "I love writing" but their faces don't say so, their determination lacks respect. When you like something, you dedicate your life to it. You put actions through your words. It isn't just about combining words to create a sentence.
I've seen writers with large egos that don't read others' novels because it is a competition—yet they tell others to keep on writing and reading others' novels. I've seen writers asking for some advice yet they don't follow halfway through it. I've seen writers who keep on procrastinating and think that something different will happen once they write. I've seen writers who're really active in the forum but not on their ongoing novels. Then, at the end of the day, they say "they love writing" or "enjoy the thrill of whatever writing gives".
Just... why are they writing? And you, why are you writing?
