my most evil character is a Fenris-centric fascist who hate half-bloods, causes unrest in the whole kingdom, and now he has sided with a malicious faction that wishes the world to cease from existence.

for the most virtuous one, idk

Not my book but my favorite read, "History strongest husband" (was ranked as high as SoulLand4 in raws websites, west is totally unknown bc of shitty title compared to Reverend insanity that is edgy)
ironically the MC is the "most evil".

To nutshell.
Its like inbetween of "a cooler version of Estate Developer manhwa" and "tamer version of Reverend insanity"
where MC is the most ruthless ###### that do ANYTHING. And consider lives of others as worthless.

But the thing that is stopping him from be the most crazy hobo-massmurderer like RI FangYuan, is that there is just one goal he crave : Have a family.
Thing he couldnt have in prev life, despite being the most world renowed doctor, with a nobel prize but disfigured.
(which also a reason why his heart is ruthlessly cold as he got a clear view on human nature)
This thing, is the like the last remaining barrier that stop him from turning the world into hell-on-earth.
And whole series, like EstateDev, you see a clown-like MC, that act like a buffoon, pulling genius ideas and inventions, doing horny jokes, and using the most horrible possible means (like poisoning, bombing, assassinating, raping, STDs transmission-assassination, black plague innocent cities, FKING NUKING armies)
but in fact, behind this whole facade, hide a weak heart and wounded self.
But even that, isnt clearly shown like EstateDev but more like "hinted".

One particular thing.
Is that each time that MC beat a very evil opponent.
The opponent will scream madly : YOU ARE SO POISONOUS ! SHEN LAN ! YOU ARE SO POISONOUS !

Which bring a small comical effect (in this gruesome counter-attack of MC)
As basically it show how much "evil" the means of MC are, compared to this villains.

PS : Oh and he painted a wall in the mansion of the heroine, the names of all his enemies in red. So he wont forget them.
And cut the ballz of the people that tried to "take the heroine".

PPS : As the saying goes : to beat evil, you must be more evil yourself
PPPS : This novel is giga high quality, but everyone is simping for Reverend Insanity for edge. Which show much a title is important.
Just like no one cares of "Martial arts master" despite same author as "Lord of mysteries"

Depends on your definition of "evil"
Is it an AI that hopes to escape into the real world (and will sacrifice anything to do so)?
A woman so wronged in life that in a VR world she now enslaves others?
A guy who profits from temptation and misery?
A god of the undead?
A god bound absolutely by rules, looking for a loophole to keep him from honoring a promise made to something far more evil?
A guy so addicted to games he'll sacrifice his own relatives to create an 'interesting scenario'?
A demon bent on summoning his master so that they can once more enslave worlds?
A brother and sister duo addicted to blood sacrifices?
The "Eternal Emperor" who moves his essence into his oldest heir at death?
A man so obsessed with defeating a terminal illness that he creates disposable life forms in hopes of finding a cure?

Though it's probably Jaagrath, the Father of Evil, a primordial being who is the embodiment of all negative emotions, the dark side of Creation.

And as for virtuous, that's even harder to qualify - according to some, being a horn dog would automatically exclude a person from the "virtuous" category, as could being any member of the LGBTQ+ community.
Though maybe it would be Pickles the Cat... which is kind of odd, as cats are often seen as the embodiment of non-virtuous behavior...

Out of all my stories, I'd say the most evil is probably tied with the three members of the Morrigan from my modern fantasy setting (I have a stupid amount of stories set in the same world). In this setting, the strength of a person's magic/ability is based on the age of their soul. The longer the soul has been around, the more wacky shit they can do.

The Morrigan are the leaders of Witches with the titles of Youngest, Median and Eldest. Once the Eldest reaches a certain age, they pass on their knowledge to their "heir" who becomes the new Youngest (with the other two increasing in title) before dying. The part that makes them evil is that they have perpetuated that lie since they took over the Witches. In reality, they are subplanting their souls into the body of a descendant of their bloodline. Which is often a child. The children are always led to believe that they are going to get the knowledge of their ancestors because the new host must be willing. And yes, this kills the child (but not the child's body).

They're also responsible for pretty much every bad thing that happened in that setting. One of the trio is also a big bad in one of the stories because she tortures the MC's friends to force her to accept the transfer. Made all the more heinous as this particular descendant is her granddaughter.

And who is the most virtuous?
Dude, that was able to figure out a way to erase the minds of the enslaved nonhumans, forcing a man to murder one of his most loyal subordinates, Using time magic to trap people in a time loop until they broke so he could take over their bodies, making everyone he meets into nothing more than flesh robots capable of nothing but obedience without a chance of ever being saved.

Well not as fucked up as some others that I have yet to introduce but pretty up there.

Technically not evil in the terms of his own kingdom but for everyone else pretty damn evil.

Virtuous? What's that, is it edible?

For evil it's a tie between two siblings, Adela and Jacob. Because Adela is a homewrecker (don't need to say more) and Jacob is the kind of misogynist that you can easily find in real life. Nothing is scarier than villains that are REAL.
And most virtuous has got to be Leo. He's a walking sunshine ?

Philia Lovelock, an ex-magical girl who got isekai'd after her last fight. While she doesn't carry her old abilities over to the next world, she does pretty fine with what everyone else is using...

Pre-Isekai
  • In her previous life, she was a magical girl. Gets captured by enemy aliens, uses their brainwashing to do it to herself. Her brainwashed self suffered Multiple Personality Disorder not knowing that Philia takes over whenever she wants. Philia's not doing this to help Earth, she's just doing this because she's surrounded by aliens she could care less about and enact all the intrusive thoughts in her head without consequence. To the point that she leaves a message to never be un-brainwashed as she suspects she may not even harbor anymore empathy even towards humans. Guess what kind of world she was isekai'd to by the way? It's run by demi-humans.
  • Flooded a whole alien stadium with deadly nerve gas just so her favorite intergalactic team wins by default.
  • She made a sentient AI. It was utterly malicious. It's still on the loose.
  • Her familiar was a cute little unicorn. It's actually a literal demon.
  • Also, she peddled stolen chemical weapons with said demon.
  • That demon is still on Earth, doing as it pleases.
Post-Isekai:
  • She was reborn as a princess; committed graft and corruption to launder money so she could enact her "run away and live life as I like it" project. Culminates with her setting fire to and destroying historical landmarks and killing people she grew up with in cold blood.
  • Speedrun magic lessons by using up the prison population. Considering what kind of kingdom she's in, nobody cares anyway.
  • Attends discount hogwarts; 50% to sneak and grab forbidden books, 50% to see if she still lacks empathy; ends up being a serial killer on campus. Due to her being disliked (humans are seen as just above animals but less than people), she is generally regarded as a red herring suspect. Stops attending school and returns to tutoring after she got bored.
  • Summoned WMD's from Earth; nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons.
  • Her summoning of said WMD's nearly caused another world war.
  • Has a road roller and actually uses it.
  • Put an annoying diplomat on industrial grade drugs, mutilates him so bad it makes Mason Verger look handsome and sends him on his merry way to prance around the city while he's still high. To this day, that city has a fear of naked golden people.
  • Literally asks herself "What would Machiavelli do?" when faced with a decision.
  • Brews her own bio-weapons using local resources. She's recreated analogs of Sarin and VX.
  • Pulled a No Russian at the height of a big party, released tons of deadly nerve gas in the middle of the city while razing it to the ground. All in one night.
  • Sacrificed lives of unsuspecting isekai people; sucking up their souls to fuel the spell to pull satellites from Earth just so she could "win the isekai space race"
  • Pulled an MK-Ultra on a minister who was just doing his job because he was good in magic and she planned to use him in her space race project. One of those satellites is an orbital nuclear weapons platform.
  • Tameable magical beasts? Arm them with guns and teach them the ways of terran warfare. Not enough? Ten-seconds of firefighting and said magical beasts already resort to full-blown chemical warfare. Guess who taught them?
  • Interrogates bandits using a woodchipper while a holographic totem records it all. Leaves it for their friends to find.
  • Bombarded a sleepy little town with Sarin gas to rid it of more bandits.
  • When Selphie, a dryad joins the party Philia makes her "the world's cutest bioweapon". Gives her a repeating wooden pellet gun that shoots heavily mutated seeds called "whipcrawlers"; a horrifying parasitic plant that burrows into the body and turns the target into a shambling zombie with razor-sharp whips to use as cannonfodder. Has even weaponized the flowers that grow on the dryad's head that sprays corrosive pollen and has been trying to make her control anthrax.
  • Left an armed nuclear warhead hidden underneath a city. She comes to visit every few years just to reset it.
  • During a monster stampede, she reveals she has a live nuclear bomb at the ready. Not to obliterate monsters but to spare the town she's in if the defenders fail.
  • Because she faked her death, she cannot be taken into any aristocrat's entourage, or they will be blamed for the fire that killed hundreds back in her kingdom.

She's one of the good guys by the way. The most evil is the MC, the MC knows who Philia is and what Philia gravitates to and brings her into the party anyway.

Probably would be Tanith. He doesn't have any grand ambition nor elaborate motives, he's just a pedophilic rapist. ...Also hasn't technically shown up yet in what I've actually posted but shhh that's fine nobody knows that.

Meanwhile in Empire of Mercy... Hrm. Probably would be Platinum Legacy, but he's not that evil, just your garden variety smarmy aristocratic jackass willing to commit to assassination and mass child abduction to further their own power. Okay I guess he is willing to use sacrifices as fodder for magical rituals and has engaged in child trafficking to develop his own personal military of brainwashed assassins. Maybe he is that evil, actually...

The most evil character I've ever written was not in the book I've currently got on ScribbleHub, but rather a Cyberpunk Western I put out a few years back called "Dystiopia's Edge". A businessman named Mr. Rollins who didn't have any cybernetic enhancements because he saw everyone else in the world getting them to help them get by in a cruel world, so he viewed living with all your own blood and bones as the ultimate luxury experience. I can't reveal what he did without giving away a twist at the end of the book. But man, I tried to write a prequel story with him recently and I just could not get back into his headspace after having a kid. Too scary.

The most virtuous character was in that same book. A guy named Corin Wyre. He was a reformed drug addict sniper who got on the straight and narrow after waking up hungover one day and seeing an old broadcast of "Mr Rogers Neighborhood". Mr. Rollins essentially screwed him over.

In my story the most "evil" character is probably Sid. He's an eighteen year old kid with a penchant for bullying.
He was the former best friend of my protag and even had feelings for her before she came out as transgender to him.
Now he calls her slurs and threatens her physically just for daring to exist.

Low stakes compared to some but banal evil is still evil.

Most virtuous is harder to quantify. I'd probably say Carla, the protag's mother. Single mom, overworked, still tries. Overall just a good momma.

Recently I've written a scene where the main character forced an innocent performer on the stage to butcher another, making this part of an ongoing play to be acted out in reality while the audience watched in horrified silence. Thing is, I consider this character to be one of the good/virtuous ones, so I'm not sure how to answer that. Everything is relative.

With my current title? Unfortunately, "evil" is more of a spectrum. Edvard definitely does a few fucked-up things on screen, but his sister, Giselle, is an assassin, but she only did her job, her kills happening before the story starts. You could definitely argue that ruthless combat efficiency, torture and murder are the actions of evil men and women, but again, it's a matter of degrees with them.

Erich, meanwhile, is just a noble's snot-nosed castoff, and he's just an angry prick until he gets straightened out.

My upcoming title definitely has some right nasty fuckers, though. Giselle wasn't one to relish in her job, but the man I wrote as her foil is a different story. The same goes for the major antagonist that Edvard has to contend with.

The Omnilord.
Kinda like a demon lord, but the guy is much more edgy.

He's evil, because he thinks he's the good guy. He hates women. All women. Because they are born evil. They don't know they are evil, but they are. They are evil in the way that children can be innocent and evil at the same time. They are too ignorant to know they are evil, but they are evil.

So he is going to save MANkind.

Picture an incel who watches WAY too much Hentai tentacle porn who manages to become a demon in his favorate Otome Game. Some guy SO MUCH into the game he wrote the Wikipedia. So first step is to kill the demon lord and eat his heart. Step two is to "save" the other villains. Step three is to "save" the MC because clearly he doesn't understand how brainwashed he is by the matriarchy that has turned him into an expendable drone who's only purpose is to die for the vagina.

That's why he's evil.

A tyrant who turns you into a slave will eventually stop torturing you, once he gets what he wants.
This guy will never stop because IT IS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.
And who is the most virtuous?
Oh. Charity.
Because she's wise.
