For worldbuilding purposes and location naming and personal curiousity.

Which of these words sound ominous as a name for a facility designed for farming and waste disposal, or rather sound like a place where something nasty or horrifying is going on, like only in a horror genre or a wartime horror genre?

It's less the name in itself but how you use it. It's how people speak about "don't go to the silo" that makes the name silo creepy in the setting. It's how people are reluctant to think about what happens to those who go to the farm. It's shown in how everyone ignores the nursery and it can't be found on any map.

Naming something "super ominous place" is often the opposite of that, because it seems way too obvious and will make people look stupid most of the time. "Hey, someone went missing. Where could they be? Good thing nobody will check 'the cave of lost souls' for another 40 chapters or the story would be over."

In general, using names of facilities that handle objects and use them for human facilities can make it more creepy, because it shows a lack of concern for the people there (e.g. the farm, the silo, etc). In the same way things like "the nursery" for adults or "the chapel" in a land without gods/believe.

But as said... the important part is how people talk about that place.
Not what special name they use to describe it...

Dump, no? Waste disposal. The only other word I can think off is landfill.

I would never go inside something called Dollhouse/Playhouse if I knew I was in some fucked up world.
Commune sounds like where cultists go, and it makes me remember 1Q84. Oh, and Great Leap Forward-like era.
Plantation might be when slavery/serf system is still implemented

As @LostLibrarian said, it's less about the name, and more about the context. Without context, half of those names are nothing more than simply weird or outright nonsensical.

That said, for serious worldbuilding purposes, I would stay away from names too far detached from the official purpose or popular reputation (in case of unofficial names/nicknames) of the facility in question.

Listen buddy, you need to chop that down to like four options. There ain't enough people to even vote, so you 14 voters all spaced out

The highest voted one here only like 3 people.
