Which genre should I do, seinen or smut?

I just found out about this site. I'd been thinking about "liveblogging" the first draft of my next series and this looks perfect because I write in a light novel style.

I have two projects ready to start: a seinen novel about computer hackers who form a sentai team to fight an evil tech giant (who builds a giant robot), and an H novel about the war between sex demons and sex ninjas. I've got a feeling smut would be more popular, but, while I think it's within the rules, I don't feel comfortable posting rape scenes where innocent minds may be ruined by them, and sex demons do a lot of raping, so there'd be pages "censored" in the story. Also, if I post a clean story, I could post the first chapters of my already-finished book to try and instill confidence in readers before I start the new one. The most important thing to me, though, is that people read the story and engage with it. So, do you think smut would draw a lot more readers?

You should write something that you're comfortable with, because while it may feel good to be popular for a time, the desire to continue might be put at risk.

Plus, I think you could always put smut in your stories whenever you feel like it

I second this notion.

As much as I like the concept of interactive stories or stories that derive their primary focus from user input, in practice, as an author, you may lose interest quicker than if you wrote to please your own creativity.

You lose the essence of complete ownership of your own work when you let others make major decisions for you. This is true in life as it is in writing.

You can always do smutty seinen. Write whatever inspires you the most. Your passion will show through.

Just do whatever you enjoy.
I mean unless you have a specific goal. For example if you just wanna be popular, look at what's trending and write based on that.

You will always have to reckon with the fact that you will need to consistently work on whatever your project is. Passion and conviction will play a part, so if you start something up for reasons other than the love of it, you'll need to reconcile that at some point.
