Lowkey I feel like the WebNovel pay isn’t worth how much they work you, isn’t it only like $200 a month? I mean that’s decent side money but like not enough to live on, so you’ll need to keep your regular job and have to write every day. But I still wish u good luck!

I was like that too when I first started writing, got my books contracted like a fool and they took my copyright and they will own it even after 50 years after my death. ?? Oh, yeah, it's written in the contract. As for money... It ain't that easy anymore now. Before they used to give $200 if you upload new chapter everyday without a miss for 4 months. But now, if you make $200, they will give you $400 and so on for 4 months I think. And it's impossible to earn that much on a new book lol. As for marketing, that too is fake. They simply randomize hundreds of books and you'd be lucky to get the front page. For the first few weeks, as soon as you post a new ch, your book will show up at update section. Then if your readers give you over 1000 powerstones and approx 200 tickets, only then you get exposure.

All in all, its basically a scam. But, this is just my opinion and experience. You do you.

Just open patreon ac, create membership, link you bank account or PayPal. I suggest direct link to avoid extra charges. And just post there. But stock up atleast 50 chs then you can release 4 chs/week while working on the book. Good luck.

You'd get more money by writing one good novel anywhere else, amassing a following, and then releasing more works on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited. I hate their exclusivity contracts, but for anyone capable of writing 2+ good stories, that is the move rn.

If you use Amazon, you could become richer lol. 3k words a day, for 15 days, 45k words = 1 book.
you can like release 24 books over a year if you kept that schedule. And use Twitter ads.

Disregarding whether or not you would be able to earn on Webnovel, that contract's biggest problem that I found is that they take away all the control you have over your own novel.

Loosing your IP is far worse than most think. Imagine that you want to make a web comic out of your novel, you can't do that on webnovel. And if webnovel decides to make a web comic or something else out of your story, then you will have no say in the matter. Look at LOTM's first manhua, do you think that series deserved that kind adaption?
Webnovel can do whatever they want with your story and you will have no say in the matter.

I don't think them asking for platform exclusivity is that weird, most platforms do the same these days. After all, if a platform is paying you without you having to do anything, besides posting chapters, then the least they can ask is that the story remains exclusive to their platform. (How else will they pay you?)

But unlike Webnovel, most other platforms are only exibitioning your work, they have no rights over it, all rights still belong to the author. But that's not the case for Webnovel.
