What kind of thoughts keep you awake?

Mine is the fact that.... there might be a chance there's nothing after your death.
There's no isekai, there's no afterlife, no heave and no hell. It's just pure nothingness where you won't be able to be conscious anymore..... Just the thought of trying to understand this, makes me think for a long time while trying to understand the system our universes nature has built for us.
Do we come out of nowhere just like BigBang? Are we going to disappear the same way as we come to existence?

I know that I might sound a bit dumb asking this question but I'm a bit curious to know.
What makes you think so hard that you can't even sleep during the night?

I keep awake by coffee, which has replaced my blood in my veins.

But seriously, to answer your question, I'm kept awake by thoughts about my next chapters/scene arrangements (whenever I'm in my writing mood), or my longing for the girl I like (which is now impossible).

As for your questions, my take on that is, well...no one knows, and if I can't find an answer to those, why would I even think about it? There are lots of possibilities, and not even one is possible to predict/know. Nevertheless, I guess if there's nothing after we die, are we even conscious to feel that 'nothingness'?

I don't really have one thing that would keep me awake. Sometimes I'm just alone with the next chapter of my story, sometimes I'm thinking about how unlikely my dreams are to come true, sometimes I'm thinking if all I believe is a lie I convinced myself to be true. I also often overthink a lot of stories I read, coming up with different endings for them or just some more scenes around the characters.
Recently the hot weather is keeping me awake tho. Can't say sleeping is pleasant when you have like 27 degrees in your room.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly the thing that scares some people. That not even that nothingness can be felt and understood, unlike void or unlike loneliness. You can say a lot about both, because both can be somehow seen (even if indirectly) and both have their own explanations for them. The nothingness after death is something that can't be defined in any way, and that's scary for some people.

I lay awake at midnight in trembling fear that one day I might accidentally pop a spontaneous boner in the most inappropriate area.

Like, I'd be at my sister's birthday party around her friends or in a sauna around strangers and I'd be forced to explain myself but the fact that I acknowledged my stiffy just digs a deeper hole for me.

How greed leads to the worst tragedies in history. Like Nestle selling baby formula in 3rd world countries has caused the deaths of over 2 million babies over a 50 year time span. Or pensioners being out 400 billion because the managers thought it was a good idea to invest in China stock. Even though over a quarter of those stocks tank from being scams. You know, stuff that assures me that no greater power is at work.

Ah, of course...what we don't know scares us. But then again, it works both ways: it can end up the realization of the horror in one's head, or it can end a pleasant surprise. Who knows?

Fun fact:
We are nothing. Simulations in which the big bang is created using matter makes a universe completely different than what we observe. If we add the expansion with the rule of nothing. We GET OUR EXISTENCE AS IT IS. Perfectly. Spread. Nothingness.

Nothing keeps me awake other than restless leg syndrome now and then. I don't have any worries because whatever came up in the day, I dealt with. And if I didn't, what's that saying? That worry is like a rocking chair - gives you something to do but gets you nowhere?

How should I develop my characters?
Should I do this or that?

Basically my story lives rent free in my head, and disrupts my sleep on a regular basis.

i think im the type that could sleep anywhere that's comfortable enough, or at least make them nearly that level.

if anything, thinking more would just make me even sleepier, especially if it's perverted ones.
