I believe it is greed & jealousy because
Greed and jealousy are logical emotions. :blob_neutral: Why should I be satisfied with my state?

Taking what you don't have is thus a logical action.

Everything starts out with a something.

We get hungry, gluttony.
We feel attach to something, lust.
We feel above and look down at something, pride.
Sometimes we feel jealous of something or someone, envy.
Tired? Sloth.
Angry? Wrath.
Want to own something? Greed.

Everyone has something to have and even if you don't have it as of now, you'll start to crave for something. Power, food and other stuff.

Now excuse me, i'll be having a date with sloth.

Ignorance. Especially, the choice of ignorance.

Any act that can be considered evil, is considered such because the results are achieved at the expense of others (often leading to their suffering). As such, as self-proclaimed intelligent beings, we need to be aware that all our actions can have consequences for others.

Evil doesn't begin with severe crimes like murder. It starts much smaller, from small that could, and often should, be overlooked. The choice to actively ignore, or never consider, how your actions can influence others, I think is the true source of evil.

This doesn't mean you should never stand up for yourself when the need arises. You should, however, be aware of the potential impact that choice can possibly have. For nobody ever considers themselves evil, yet everyone has to potential to be.

Evil originates from fulfilling desire regardless of the cost to other beings.

Yes, we require desire to live, but we don't have to do it at the suffering of other people. Thus I will always try best to not buy from companies and countries that support slavery like China and Apple.

There not being enough cute anime girls in the world is the root of all evil. If God said let their be anime waifus for all, evil would be vanquished overnight.

But on a serious note, there’s no such thing as evil. Evil to thee is not necessarily evil to me.

Well, nothing is really evil in my opinion. It's just different ideals and stuff,
I'm kind of tired so I'm just spouting nonsense here.
But yeah I also believe it's a mix of greed and vainglory (or pride) that causes "evil"

Eh, impossible. Too many people want to be ugly bastards, while to many other people want their waifus to be only for them. The world would erupt into even greater chaos.

Knowledge is the source of both good and evil, and the absence of all three is innocence. We are born without knowledge, and without capacity of logic, without the freedom to choose, without even the ability for voluntary movement. But we grow, we learn about ourselves. We learn about other people and creatures, and the world around us. Soon enough we are a child, developing the ability to discern good and evil, and the ability to choose right or wrong. We are all still only children in the eyes of science, and in the eyes of heaven. We have a lot of innocence left to reveal into good and evil, and then we need to grapple with how to choose good from between them. Its because we are learning so much, so fast, more than ever before in history, that things seem so bleak right now. There is a lot of evil today that we newly understand, but haven't figured out how to put behind ourselves yet.

I believe it is greed & jealousy because
Agree with you, except I'd expand that to be just desire and jealousy:

1) Wanting something you don't have
2) Covetous of others because of what they are/they have

And then acting on those impulses without restraining yourself with morals breeds evil. Pretty black and white, but this is my simplified sharing!
