Birthdays are a sacred time to make the most important wishes of our lives. haha.

They say that birthday wishes work better when kept secret but I'm curious.

As a child I remember wishing for my parents to be immortal. It was the thing I wished for every year since I could remember making wishes. I was afraid of them dying.

But now living in the distant future I've mellowed out, gotten chiller and now I usually wish that I could find a way to hibernate at will, or to be able to be put to sleep so I can wake up 1000 years into the future to check on how technology has been developing. Or maybe a instant sleep button. I'm delusional, idealism for the win, woohoo

Birthday wishes are cool, but what's even better is the smell of smoke when the candles on the birthday cake are blown out. They smell of smoke, and warmness and it's amazing. wow!

Nothing, not in a long time. I don't think I have had a candle birthday cake in forever? Maybe when I was 16? It's been a while since I really cared about my birthday.

I cared a lot about other people's, but haven't really done or wished for anything for mine in years.

Nothing.

As a kid, my mates were the only ones who remembered it. And I was happy they did. But since we did not own anything, there was no gifting. The wishing tradition did not exist or if it did, no one told me.
And I still do not. If I am home and off work, I celebrate. I make the day a good one. A day of happiness is precious enough, why wish for more?

I secretly wish that people and family would a tiny bit more special on my birthday. Every year, but I always get the worst.

Wishes are a scam.

In time i have lost ability to be happy about my birthday you know. I cannot say why. Maybe because i have grown up. And when you grow up your heart dies

After nearly dying multiple times, and then finally getting all of our impossible childhood birthday wishes granted in a span of three years, we cling to our birthdays now and celebrate them as best we can. Now, our wishes are simply that we get to see our next birthday free, alive, and as ourselves.

Next year, it will be a wonderful miracle if we make it to 50 in reasonably OK health and good cheer. And if we do, we'll make the same wish again.

Every year that we're alive, we get to write more novels, so far. And that makes it worth it to us.

Universal immortality, world peace, shapeshifting, magic. Usual stuff.

Nothing, as I don't celebrate one.
But one thing I do keep in mind is everyday is special.
Be it sad, happy, lost, hope such and such.

Mine is next week my wife's was last week. Don't remember any of the birthday wishes I've made in the past.

But then I've always felt only two things can really go wrong on a birthday: 1) Nobody remembers. 2) EVERYBODY remembers.

My birthday is next Tuesday. I wish for booze, a cigar, and peace. If someone visits without these things, or money, I'm gonna run them off with a bat, gf excluded, she can be my gift too.
