Hey guys. After many of you helped me point out what I did wrong, I changed a lot of stuff. And now although there are over 400 views on my overall story. There aren't much on the chapters. Which implies that my story isn't being picked. Would any of you be so kind and point out to me what would or wouldn't make you pick my story?
I do not mind any sort kf constructive criticism so long as it isn't blatantly meant to hurt than correct 。◕‿◕。

I read the first chapter and the synopsis, sadly, here is my take:
I read a part of your story and like, the synopsis is really off. Not only the punctuation, but couldn't understand what it is about.

You added 2 other parts, one for the characters, which felt really whatever to be there and a prologue that doesn't add much. I could be inserted in the first chapter and wouldn't change much.

The first chapter felt like a rushed conversation. I didn't get where they are.

First point for getting attention: Fix the synopsis. I dont write good synopsis either, I use GPT and other people's help to do that.
Your cover is good, so no need to change that.

About the character files and the prologue it felt off and might push people away to not read it. I think it would be better if you write longer chapters to do what you tried with the characters file. Also, describe more of the characters. To me they were just names to identify who was talking to

I think readers only checks whether you've been added to someone's read list, not whether or not they are actually reading it.

Synopsis does nothing for me, too.
If you're struggling with that, try feeding your text to an AI and ask for a short teaser. 4-5 sentences max. I noticed they became really good at summarizing novellas.

Pretty sure overall views means anyone who has clicked and lingered on the story's main page counts as a view. Including you. If you click on edit series, and then go to statistics, you can see page referrals which will show you where the views are coming from and if you go to insights you can see what countries the views are coming from.

Thank you.. I'll see to these ?
Er.... don't feed your novel text in to an A.I. as suggested by the person above.
Yeah I dont plan to. :D

Oh kinda like how on insta and tiktok people judge a good reel by how many likes it got?

What's wrong with using AI? So many authors have the same problem with a synopsis. If you struggle with it, at least learn from AI how to do it right.
AI is heavily looked down upon in writing and art circles for many reasons that I will not get into here because I don't want to derail the thread. Some people actively avoid novels that even hint at using AI other than just as an editor like Grammarly. AI also isn't very good at writing, let alone at writing good synopsis. You are much better off learning how to do it right from a real person or by learning by imitating the synopsis of good books.

The big issue, as I understand it, is if you feed your text to the AI, it "keeps it" to learn from and recycle later.

Learning from it and making it do for me are two different things. Plus I just dont want Aİ in my writings. A total personal choice. No attack on anyone ?
