Very unsimilar "Similar Series"

For a few weeks, my story Jump Rider gets 1-2 daily visits from Slime Breeder, since it is listed there as "Similar Series". While I do not mind the advertisement, I seriously wonder about the similarity because you could not get much less overlap (ok, without reading much of slime breeder): Mine is not harem, smut, fantasy, ecchi, ... but is a lot on space ship upkeep and trading. Actually, the only tags shared are "slice of life" and "Romance". Most referred readers will be disappointed by this.

How can a hard SF be even close to smut-fantasy? I would recommend that Similar Series should at least adhere to the tags for a course selection.

Did you give my story a 1-star rating yet? That could have something to do with it.

I was wondering the same thing. One of my works was compared to some Futa novel for awhile, now it is compared to a free-use novel.
The only similarity is smut lol.

I always thought authors were choosing what stories appeared in "similar series" to advertise another book they liked.

As far as I know, they are put there according to how they are tagged. I could be wrong, though.

I thought it was based on what you chose as your "Main Genre". Since I chose Psychological, I got REND in my Similar Series, even though the stories aren't that similar aside from a little bit of internal angst.

If there's more to it, I don't know what it could be.
