I've seen ads for 'Deck Builder' novels on RR. Presumably they're also on SH. I think they're usually more styled after Slay the Spire.

I have for non-posted stories. A couple times actually. Each time spent a few weeks drafting cards, figuring out rules and balance, and even going some play testing.

The first one I made was more similar to magic and yugioh, but the second one was more similar to vanguard, (And a few other draft game ideas that were scrapped a lot faster). I play yugioh, and keep up-to-date with most major tcgs and play them online occasionally.

For obvious reasons, that is a lot of work, and I always decided to not post those types of stories as never had the time to do them consistently.

Not sure if there is a tag for it but I have run across a few. Mostly it is just normal ability only they can be acquired through cards .

Just wondering if anyone in SH ever wrote an original Trading Card Game system akin to Yu-Gi-Oh, Cardfight Vanguard, or MTG for their novel.
The next project I want to start writing is based on a card game system.
It will draw a lot of inspiration from Magic: The Gathering and Zenonzard, with a splash of Yu-Gi-Oh.
Right now, I'm in the process of designing the rules, and I'm thinking of a way to describe a battle compellingly with words.
The idea is to blend the LITRPG genre and the Korean tropes of gacha dungeon crawl with a card-based combat system.

I have some doubts that it will interest most of the audience, but I've learned that on the internet, every niche has its audience.
Without the graphic component, it might lose a bit. Maybe I could integrate it with AI illustrations and create a Photoshop template for the cards.

I honestly think a story about the pokemon card game would go so hard, but the pokemon company would never do that a second time.

Good luck :blob_highfive:
