When you get these comments that shower you with praise but you know that it will eventually lead to--
You should publish this on n****st*r, or you should join this contest, and whatnot.
Would you just ignore spam like this?

Being a self-proclaimed good-natured person, I still reply to them even though I know that they're just spamming...
It's like, you know those people that hand out free soap or some crap and drag you to their stall at the mall?
You listen to all their promotion but can't bring yourself to tell the overzealous brand ambassador that you only have a few coins in your pocket.
...that might not have made any sense, but what are your thoughts?

Do what you want is all i can tell. You can ignore or politely decline. If you want, you could also join the contest.

It's one of those things that require you to sign a contract with them, much like webnovel's spirity awards, basically giving away your rights to your story.

That's kinda fucked up, its better to just block them and ignore if you don't want to confront them. If you do want to answer, maybe telling them why you don't want to join should do it.

Ai-chan would say, "Thanks dude. But Ai-chan has looked at the site and the website looks like a mess. Until the admin learns how to make a proper website, Ai-chan can't on good conscience post the story there."

Yes, Ai-chan is non-subtly roasting the admin while saying no. The guy is most likely a shill anyway, if not the admin himself.

I am a very polite and considerate person.

If what they're saying is a little off, I'll immediately turn the knob on my brain to 100% operation capacity and start doing research about their background (if they have any) and the things that they are talking about (websites, places, copyrights, and contracts, etc.).
If it looks safe, I'll dive deeper into the research until I either find something that doesn't look safe, or something that looks like I'll regret doing.
If even after all of that, I still don't see anything unsafe with my findings, I'll gladly reply to them with extreme caution and query, like any polite and considerate person would do.

Otherwise, if it doesn't look safe from my research, I'll disregard them and pretend that I am dead or something. :blob_neutral: If they come back and follow up with more offsetting messages, I'll simply block them.

Never happen to me so, yeah, my story is too shitty... Anyway, it depends on you if you will play with them or not. Have a nice day, and here's a cookie, although it had a bite. :blob_cookie:

I looked into their contract. If you agree to it, and post like for example 40k words within a month, you're guaranteed $150 and like WSA, if you write daily, you get a monthly bonus. It's a better contract than what webnovel is putting out but it's all the same story.
You're selling the rights to your novel. So nope. xD

They'll come to you eventually. Mine's not even well known.

If you don’t have a sizeable reader count like 1000 or more it’s safe to say the person is just clicking on random stories with low readers who are likely starting out. They’ll send a canned message and just insert whatever the title of your novel is to try and get some free content posted on their site to try and generate traffic and make some easy money off ads. The agreement will probably have some BS they just copied from somewhere else and they’ll just modify it a bit. Pretty sure there are a bunch of webnovel clones popping up all over the place and they’re running a sketchy op putting up and taking down these sites constantly. If the site is still just starting up and new(like within a year or something) it’ll probably disappear within a year’s time. You likely won’t get paid jack shit in the end.

At least this is similar to how I’d operate a scam like this. If I can think of it, surely someone has already thought of it and is doing it.

Moral of the story, just outright ignore these sorts of messages.

BTW, Ai-chan just realized that Ai-chan also got that guy's comments on 3 of Ai-chan's stories. Should Ai-chan feel flattered? After all, he only has 13 messages and he wasted 3 of them on Ai-chan's stories.

Don't bother replying. Ignore it. They want to see they could hook you in and get your attention. Once they know...hm....

I agree 100%. I research before I click on anything from that message. Cautious cat lives another day.

By all curiosities, what site are they telling you to go join a contest on? So one can know what site to avoid too.

It seems shady. I remember some people mentioning WebNovel and/or maybe Dreame too contacting them on Wattpad to post their stories on their site too. Think maybe some tried to contact me but i don't remember who it was. Reported acct who sent that messenger and blocked it. Shady is shady. I don't trust/don't particularly like those that have to get onto some other platform just to pull people to theirs.

If it was a non-exclusive thing and I didn't have to hold my nipple in my baby's mouth all the time, I would go for it.

Ah that sucks. Hearing webnovel from others on here makes it sounds like its the worst, but I guess...its not the only one in that bucket...
