Honestly speaking - that story would have a very specific audience. That is not very represented on SH.
Beyond that, I would say the early chapters do hold up for themselves with the most obvious suggestions would be the rather obvious infodump about archons and the lack of some discrete plan of actions by the main characters makes their initially passive situation even more passive.

Your main issue is not the quality in my opinion but a very niche story with tags that would scare many would-be readers.
