Context: I was scrolling through the trending stories, then found one with a single review that read:
As a seasoned reader, I found this story to be quite compelling. The premise of reincarnation without cheats or systems, relying solely on intelligence and perseverance, offers a refreshing departure from typical overpowered protagonists. The protagonist’s pragmatic approach and the twist of rebirth into a familiar yet different world demonstrate thoughtful storytelling. It’s a mature and engaging take on the isekai genre, emphasizing grit and strategic growth. I look forward to seeing how his journey unfolds, driven by determination rather than supernatural aid. A commendable and intriguing read.

Also, the guy's still at chapter 0 according to the status.

Personally, I feel that this is so AI but I can't objectively point out why I am feeling this way.

Some people track their reading in other ways since auto bookmarking is off by default and they simply dont know about it.

Sacrileg! A user using AI to write. I thought only authors are allowed to!

Jokes aside, very AI like but I wouldn't be surprised if someone used ChatGPT because they want to sound smart or don't know english so well. They may have been reading without logging in or as guest and logged in/registered to write a review.

I too only made an account on sites just to comment.

tbh this reads like one of those engage-baiting scammer bots that will then ask to go into discord/telegram/whatever. There are tons of them everywhere, especially since AI became freely available for everyone to use

The penultimate sentence is ambiguous. " I look forward to seeing how his journey unfolds, driven by determination rather than supernatural aid."

Does this mean the storyline is driven by determination rather than supernatural aid? That the story's character referenced here as "his" is motivated by one or the other? Or does it mean the reader is motivated to read it, by one or the other?

The ambiguity isn't evidence that a human wrote it. AI generated text is garbage and quite capable of much worse than this.

That's literally what i do, just bookmark it on browser. Easier to keep track of multiple novel sites when everything is listed in one place, and i can manage the list however way i like it.

The review reads like a canned journalist review you'd read anywhere for the last 20 years.

AI? Maybe. Could also be learned writing patterns.

Meh. Could be AI, could be some dude tryna sound smart. Could be someone using AI to try to sound smart, too. Honestly, readers using AI to translate their comments or help them write comments is way less irksome to me than writers using AI to 'write' stories.

ooh. good point, there.
my favorite "rogue AI bot" strikes again.
I'm going to call it, now that you say that? As definitely what that is.

I do get the occasional "way too glowing" message.
Yet, if I don't get that discord invite, or other overture? I can't report them.
weird praise is no crime... though I know what's up.

Lots of guys use gpt to "correct" their grammar. They dont get that gpt does not just "corrects" it but also changes the sentence structure, words, etc ...
GPT almost always changes the meaning. Can't help but do so. Since it doesn't know the meaning in the first place.

Then again, all too often the original authors don't really know, either. So no diff.
