Hello everyone, we're back! After a rather long hiatus fraught with delays from circumstances outside of our control, the DSStudio's team has finally been able to start our writing competition! Round One has already begun, and we are currently in the judging period; 14 competitors have all written their best effort, and our judges are evaluating it.

Just remember, both the judges and contestants are ANONYMOUS to each other; revealing the name of one to the other will result in immediate enforcement action.
So how does this work, and what's the prize?
Fourteen competitors will each write a story over the next few months, with the required category being "Fantasy." But they don't get to simply write! No, each chapter has a secondary prompt, with the first being "Origin of the Catastrophe." Following a one-week writing period, each chapter is paired off against another, chapter versus chapter, story versus story, and author versus author, may the best writer win!
Three judges each have five points to award for every pair, divided between the two chapters as they see fit. These points are tracked throughout the competition, like some pretentious game show. Ultimately, the author who has accumulated the most points will win.
Win what? Well, a sponsored commission from one of DSStudio's digital artists, of course! Three of our artists have agreed to offer a prize, and the author with the most points will be allowed to pick one of them to do the commission. The second-place winner will choose one of the remaining two, and the third-place author will get the last. Samples of the artist's work can be found in the discord server for the contest linked above.
