I'd say Calamity or any big content mods, but with mods like Recipe Browser, WikiThis or IMK sushi (if it's still around). Would still need a wiki though for a lot of them. They're terrible at guiding the player.

Real answer:

This mod revamps the world gen. 100x better than vanilla world gen. Mini biomes like the granite and marble are now massive biomes. Dungeon is massive, new structures, and feels very vanilla. Compatible with alot of the major mods, even with Calamity (addons as well), Thorium, etc.

Keeps track of permanent upgrades.

One click and you can open the wiki straight to the item. Wiki opens in the steam browser. I know you said you don't wanna use the wiki on the second monitor, but this might help even if just a bit.

Displays your held weapon.

Self explanatory.

To preview the world before you decide to play it. Good for identifying bugged worlds or worlds with bad Corruption/Crimson placement.

I'd add content mods here too, but frankly alot of them require a wiki to go through. I will say though that some Modded-Minecraft-esque modpacks for Terraria have actually come out, which blends content mods together properly.

Thank you very much! One more question. I heard a lot about calamity, and how big it is. If I am a casual player who struggles on hardcore, can I still enjoy calamity?

QoL mods are a must, but if you want to enjoy lots of content, I'd recommend fusing Calamity and Thorium. There's an add-on balancing those two. I'd personally go for more calamity add-ons on top just for extra content, too. Hunt of the Old God is one, and Wrath of the Gods is absolutely spectacular.

In terms of difficulty, I'm playing on Death Mode + Master world, which is only below Infernum, the most difficult one, and it's really not too hard. I've even toggled the bosses' HP to 250% of the original just so the fights go longer.

Also, don't play hardcore. It's miserable.

Calamity can still be enjoyed on lower difficulties, and has even made it so that previously expert mode and revengeance mode (a calamity difficulty) exclusive items can be obtained on classic difficulty.

The beauty of modded games (or Terraria for that matter) is that even as a casual you can enjoy it since there's a lot of ways to tweak the difficulty. If you wanted to play it on the hardest difficulty to get unique drops, you can add another mod that makes the game easier to balance it out (i.e, mods that let you gain levels, add additional accessories/slots, or add new items that make the game a bit easier). There's one I use that adds 30 accessory slots...

Calamity is one of if not the biggest mods, so you might experience a performance hit. Lots of pre-hardmode, hardmode and post-moonlord content though! (bosses, armor sets, items, NPCS, biomes, etc + new mechanics). As someone said, if you're down for it, I recommend getting addons like Hunt of the Old God and Wrath of the Gods (This one is incredible. For late, late game).

Either way, no harm in trying it! Tweak and add as you like!
