I've noticed a lot of works on here mainly surround around litRPG, a reincarnation story, a harem story--things like that. These stories do quite well on here, but the thing is it's not a genre I like writing in. Power to the people who do, but I'm more of an lgbt romance writer than anything. I like writing plot driven stories surrounding some issue the main has to solve while also falling in love with side pairings and found family trope. Sometimes with some action in it depending on the plot I decide.

ScribbleHub here has a great communicative forum system, so I'd never leave it which is also why I'm asking this here because I know I'll get a good answer. I was wondering if anyone knew if posting elsewhere for the kinds of work that I like creating would be a better idea? I feel like it gets drowned out in the other stories I see, those being the reincarnation, harem, litrpg stories. I would post here and there, but I'm not sure if it'll get the attention that I lowkey want it to. I'm not sure if the kind of people I want to enjoy my stories are even here.

To be fair I only have one story out. It's uncompleted. I've been pushing for it to be finished with lol. I created it as a practice writing story to see how it would do. I'm not that serious about it. At this point I want it to be over with, and I do three updates a week with it. I love my characters, but it's long, the plot is poor, and it's not my best work by any means, being a scrap story for testing what I could more than anything else. At the same time, it's quite an action heavy based novel. Countering that already, there is a lot of romance focus on the side because I couldn't help myself. Welp.

So, be brutally honest with me because I think the story is poor too: do you think my story just flopped as expected or that I'm not speaking to the correct crowd of people? My next story I wanted to post is a modern-styled universe and mlm romance driven plot of around 68,000 words. Should I bother with something like that here...?

I can't help you much around here, save for that you may try to upload works consistently and hope it clicks with the audience here. I know a few stories of your genre that found success here, so just try.

Also, if you are not aware, there is a cool community of BL writers here, look for @tiaf and the BL Palace peeps.

As for another site, I recommend HoneyFeed. They are also open to your genre and it might click there.

Last, just a question, feel free not to answer if you're uncomfortable. You're a Flip like me? We got lotsa fellow Filipinos here too. I got an idea coz of your username.

Ha? I didn't block anyone. I just set my account to private since I'm in self-isolation while writing my novel.

If you want to ask me questions, just tag me in your profile post instead.

Sometimes it's the luck of the draw. Wrong people logging in at the right time to ignore you, and the right people never getting a chance to see it.

This place seems pretty LGBT friendly, so I doubt it isn't doing well because of that.

Maybe assess your tags, cover, title, synopsis, etc., and try self promoting a bit?

I specifically added a link in my signature with some of the nicer reviews I've gotten to draw attention while I am posting. Does it work? Idk...

I've only gotten 4 readers so far and I'd say my story is parrocularly high quality. So, just hasn't taken off yet.

You could be the same. Just don't give up. Keep writing. Keep uploading. Eventually you'll accumulate readers.

Ah. See I have some scenes in my novel that really set in your country, and as I've never been I need answers on how to make it respectful of your people

Uh, just ask me in your profile. It'll be rude to OP if we talk here.

Thank youuu I'll keep it in mind

I'll be honest... I don't know how to do the signature link helpp. I'll start testing around doing it when I have a story that I'm more proud of though. I know my current one isn't going anywhere. Just was a fun test run for me

I would try not to be down about it. It's hard to avoid a little sadness, though, I do know that.

Some stories don't take off right away. They take time to build a following. My story (elsewhere) gets a new follower maybe once a week. It's not going anywhere fast, but it is growing.

Maybe give yourself a chance and some time?

Well romance can do very well. LGBT hasn't been a problem for me, I'm completely in the lesbian vampire theme.

Honesty, having read your post, it sounds like something I'd be interested in. I mean I write that niche (or similar) to what you are looking for.

You certainly have an audience that you can attract all I wouldn't give up. As things go Scribble Hub is pretty relaxed overall. The best thing I've done was publish Vivienne here.
I'm happy to read your story, I just need time to find it and get on the list.

Be well and I hope this helped ?

Well... I don't write the same genre as you. BUT that's OK! I'm still excited to help!

Basically what I had noticed in my own writing is that there's a particular area where you fit as a person. And you can often find that the creative juices just really flow when you hit on that area that's interesting to you. But if you leave that natural fit you'll be sitting there... and just you can't find the flow to create work. Its like you can't cheat your own self.

You want to stay where your own niche is. Now you can expand and build that later over time of where your niche is. So I'm not saying you can't grow it. but there's a natural fit where your interests just naturally fuel where things just happen for you. And its best to try to stay in that area where that box is so you can capture that momentum and gain from it.

Don't worry I'm not upset about it at all LOL. Yes, it's a lot of words and I did put a lot of thought into it, but I took it more of a first challenge to test my abilities, throw the most things that I could in it to see which elements I liked writing most, and overall see how it would do. It was mainly seeing how different my genre I learned I loved to write in the most in wasn't really popping up around here that made me hesitant, but maybe I've been too busy to see it. Everyone's replies have definitely helped ?‍♂️

Anything can do well on SH when there are consistent updates. The start will always be slow as readers are careful (as in so many stories get abandoned after 3 chapters) and like to stockpile. Spreading out your updates 3ch/week is good to get more exposure. Just keep in mind that the site gets so many updates posted per hour that your story will still get drowned and views will only climb slowly, BUT when you get readers, they will be the sweetest support.

If you need advice or just buddies to bounce ideas with, then you can join the BL_Palace discord. We are also open to GL and queer topics generally. You can also just come and chill for mundane, everyday topics.

Definitely learned that mistake the hard way and can second this.
Do not upload tons of chapters on the same day, no matter how pumped you are :blob_teary:

As to whether BL can do well on here, I've seen a few stories that have.

I wouldn't be discouraged, keep writing, and the right people will eventually find their way to you! Hell, my 2nd fav story I've written and uploaded on SH has, by far, the lowest views (like next to none), and I've got seven of the things lol
