Bakadere characters are for the most part very innocent and sweet, but their stupidity outshines their other attributes. They are basically a dim bulb or klutzy girl or boy in love. In other words, this type is quite a ditz or a klutz, and they're like a 10 year old when it comes to love, in the way they swoon over people so easily, and handle it so amateurishly. Most tend to be overly carefree and optimistic due to their lack of intelligence. Bakadere characters also act childish and air-headed. More often than not, they rush into things without thinking them through first.

Good to know! That reminds me of a character I saw in an anime several years ago. A guy felt her breasts and said that she was a D-cup, and she went, "Oh! You must be an underwear salesman." She called him the underwear salesman for the rest of the anime. It was so cute.

My protagonist rushes into things, but she's doing it consciously, to overcome her fears and to go after what she wants. In my first version of Chapter 1, some people who gave me feedback said that her boyfriend was being controlling, so I made some changes to make it more clear that he knows what she wants and he's actually being supportive, not controlling.

Is this similar to baka dense male? I have seen plenty of anime using this trope while combining it with shy girls as well.

Honestly, both annoy me, and I feel like I would be even more annoyed if it was a girl who wasn't shy. I suppose Eiko from FF9 might be the best example of this trope I can think of, possibly even the originator, and she's literally 6 years old. That's not "like" a 6 year old, she has actually lived 6 chronological years and also looks and acts like it.
