So, there are many reasons why you would like to speed run romance.

As the name suggests, it's romance which happens too quickly, and the couple completes all the 'events' such as kissing, holding hands, sharing weaknesses and thoughts, doing taxes together.
The pace is too fast for this to ever practically happen, as all such things happen within a week.

So, why would one write speedrun romance? Well,
1. He doesn't know how to write romance
2. It's a wish fulfilment

3. You aren't writing a Romance,
For example, you can write an action novel, and the sole purpose of the girl is to have the villian kidnap her again and again.

More than Action novels, I see this lot on motivation/self discovery books, where MC meets a girl, and we never see the girl again, but when the MC is about to leave, she cries and is like, "Promise me you will come back and marry me."

4. You are writing a niche category.
I don't know if Niche is correct word here, but I am referring to stuff like- Fluff involving married couple, or a gyaru who pampers you loads, or you are writing smut, or it's one of those soul mate thing.

Anyhow, this thread isn't about why speedrun romance,
It about how.

What is your favourite way to speed run romance? Both as an author and as a reader.
Do you prefer,
1. Couple kisses, *implication they had sex*, and now they live together.
2. Frequent flashbacks to show how lovely the other person is.
3. Undying loyalty and love just after first date.
4. Or any other?

Do an accelerated backstrave onto the sidewalk to launch yourself up to her window, roll, cancel the animation to clip through.

Insult her until her affection underflows.

Confess, quit to skip the cutscene and then propose.
That actually is a famous way, for novels written for incels, most men do seduce girls by doing exactly that

When the male love interest grabs the mc by the throat during their first meeting and tells her/him he wants to plow them hard, the mc gets horny and agrees.

Double points if they are same gender, and this was first homosexual experience for the mc.

I don't like speedrun romance. I like my relationships with TLC.
