Looks kind of like I'd pictured Kull facing off against the Serpent People in one of Robert E. Howard's novellas (though with a lot more purple; I'd pictured mostly tan, gray and red in the scene).

That's awesome. I've read Conan the Cimmerian. All of Howard's stuff except the final novel, which I've been meaning to get to, and never Kull.
