Should I upload all ch at once or schedule them for 1 day each...

So, I already have a story on RR with 50+ chapters (1.8k to 2.5k word in each ch (approx)), and I also want to publish it here.

I already tried one time to upload the story on SH. But I uploaded around 5-6 chapter all together. After which I saw a thread, here in forms where a person was saying that you should not upload chapters in a batch and should instead schedule them keeping a time gap of atleast 10-12 hours... So I'm confused now, what to do?

(Btw, about the story, i deteled it from here some weeks ago, (it only had 5-6 Cha at that time uploaded here) and now, I'll try to re-upload it here again. And for that, I want to do it in the right way. ‍...)

So if anyone has some tip or advice for me, then I'll appreciate it.

The RR algorithm differs from SH. SH relies more on visibility and accessibility to drive engagement. RR, on the other hand, relies more on recommendation system algorithms, either through linking between fiction or paid promotion. In RR, visibility when releasing fiction only lasts a few minutes, which isn't enough to allow for promotion. Meanwhile, the recommendation system ensures your fiction is accessible through links from other fiction. Therefore, RR authors are more likely to mass release. One of the goals is to pursue system recommendations. I'm not sure exactly how the algorithm works, but it seems the number of chapters (or pages) and the status of the fiction (active or hiatus) contribute to whether a fiction will be recommended or not, at least based on my experience. If you're lucky enough, your fiction might be recommended on a popular fiction page, which organically generates traffic and boosts engagement.

I have uploaded multiple chapters back to back on occasion. It screws up the engagement with the earlier uploaded chapter

Releasing one chapter each day gives you more exposure in latest updates, and as such bigger window to attract readers than dumping all chapters at the same time. On the other hand, most readers don't pay attention to you unless you have at least 20 or so chapters anyway, so you can combine both approaches.

Generally you should batch release a few chapter on the first day and then follow a consistent schedule. That way readers can get more invested in your story in the beginning. And the reason for the time gap is so that you show up on the "Latest Update" where you can get more traffic. It also depends on the time of day because if you post in the same hour as a 100 different other writers then you'll have less time on the first page.

It's up to you whether you want to consistently release 1 chapter over 50 days or release a small batch then a consistent schedule. But I don't think releasing all 50 chapters would be the best way to build a fanbase. If you want to have even more exposure I think you can release a chapter every 3/4 hours to get on the Latest Update.

I'd suggest 10 at first, then just set them for 12 hr intervals to drop. It would only be a couple of weeks before you get caught up, and your exposure here would increase exponentially.

Or do whatever, there is no really Wrong way, just different ways to maximize your gains. If you don't care about getting more views and favourites, and maybe some interaction if you're lucky, just dump it all and update as you normally would.

For Scribblehub the best way to release is daily the number in question is up to you but since you have only 50 chapters I would recommend once a day until you’re caught up. I wouldn’t recommend doing a large dump at all. Most experienced SH users don’t read stories until Ch 50 because we know better. Do daily release until caught up then go down. It depends on your writing speed if you can only pump out one a week then do that though unless you build up a following I wouldn’t recommend that. I’d say somewhere around 3-5 chapters a week until you’re caught up get a large enough following before you lower it to 3 a week or lower. There are authors that do “mass” release once a week or with even longer intervals but they either have a large amount of followers or they don’t care about followers and only write for themselves. Good luck. Don’t burn yourself out.
