Should I classify my story under the 'Romance' genre?

Based on the highest ranking stories for the Romance genre on this website, most of the synopses don't particularly indicate that they are romance novels (e.g. World Keeper sounds like it's just an isekai).

For my story, I think I'm going to include it under the 'Romance' genre as well. If people put stories under 'Smut' and 'Adult' just for having titillating sex scenes (even though the plot isn't necessarily centered around them), I don't see why I shouldn't do the same if I'm going to be writing a story with titillating sex scenes.

The way my story's synopsis is worded is going to make it sound like two of my story's MCs will end up together (which they will). The story will also have an attractive cover of the female MC to boot.

The romantic relationships among the MCs are not the central focus of the story, but play an important role in their character development. And these relationships aren't going to be just briefly mentioned every 100 chapters in the story either. The romance relationships will be focused on more in "filler" chapters between arcs.

If you have a romantic subplot, then yes.

Also, genre isn't about the plot but the devices and conventions used. Sci-Fi is about exploration of scientific innovations, Children Literature are works made for children, Avant-Garde is being experimental and unorthodox. They say nothing about plot. So, if your story have the elements of that genre, then yeah.

Most stories here combine genres but they do focus on a specific genre but the genre tags are listed alphabetically . . . If only there was a way to indicate the main genres (aside from the synopsis).

I'm not one to stop you, but you're misusing the Romance Genre.

Romance is for stories focused on Romance, what you should use instead is the Romantic Subplot tag.

Probably shouldn't have started the sentence with that lmao
Well, in NU I can control people's use of genres and tags, so if someone mislabeled a novel I was reading, I can just change the genres and tags to the appropriate ones.

In Scribbly the author is the one who has control over those though, so... I can't really stop anyone~
