The reason why I posted this thread because I think symbolism is relevant to writing and want to see new or unique ideas.

My favorite color representations are white and pink. (Since I am a hopeless dystopian lover, it's going to be somewhat negative.)

Where white normally conveys positive meanings. Movies like Star Wars and Hunger Games used white to represent power, authority, and order in antagonists.

For pink, I couldn't recall the reference, but I feel like pink can show excessive love, obsession, and insanity.

More uncommon symbolism? Please share!

If you want a story about color, Brandon Sanderson's Warbreaker is awesome. It's also his only story that's free to read online:

The story takes place on a world where magic is measured in tiers, called breaths, that allow the user to animate objects and such. It relies on absorption of color to work, and more breaths allow higher perception of color.

Being the main focus of the story, I'm sure you'll find plenty of interesting symbolism.

I like green because it represents fertility. Therefore, it is also the best color for wedding garments when the people getting married want children.

Huh, I haven't heard that before. I'm not too familiar with traditional weddings.

I like when white symbolizes desolation, death, barren lands and bleached bones. And when black represents: fertile topsoil, life, richness
Everything about the colors in Moonlight (2016)
Idk, language is fun and it's always worth analysing it and playing with it

Yeah! White looks cool with its dark side.

My story got a culture where the color red represents destruction and evil, while black (darkness) is just some other color.

i feel that pink is a pretty masculine color.

a guy who dares to wear bright pink in public without giving a fuck would be pretty badass, especially if the brand is hello kitty.

I could think of using black for unity/singularity in sci-fi genre, just like the black hole.

In my country Nigeria green has two meanings wealth and corruption. While purple means overpowering and absolute
