Shadows of Farabane Feedback?

Recently I've been writing this Fantasy/Dark Fantasy novel. Quite frankly I've been having fun in doing so, but I feel like it's not a story to be published. I might just be a harsh critic of myself, but overall it seems like it's lacking in character depth and pacing. So I'd like some feedback before continuing.

Struggling through the first chapter. It keeps starting out good, and then hitting a rough sentence that brings it all to a halt. Kind of like driving in heavy traffic. Makes it a little hard to follow the story at times, just trying to hold on for the ride.

As of now I'm polishing the five chapters before I publish the sixth.

Hopefully once the next chapter is posted, I'll have most of the clarity and pacing issues hammered out. So anyone that decides to read it can have a smoother time doing so.
