I know you said no offense, but please don't joke about suicide especially on a forum where you don't know people's daily and personal lives.

I'm sorry, but fuck you for this.

That aside.

I'm going back into hibernation until Monday.
I was suicidal myself and found that humour is a good way to get through it.

Sucks to see that people thinks being all cuddly and good actually solves everything for everyone. People fussing over me whenever I make a self-deprecating joke actually makes things worse and pisses me off. (Actually just showing them that your cares help a lot.)

Anyways, I tried to help him my way. If you don't like it then fine.

It may have worked for you, but it doesn't mean it works for everyone else.
People function differently, and react differently.
That's all.
I'm moving on.

Comedy is a great cure (to a degree). I think Anon might've jumped the gun on equating you saying Hans's nose looks broken to a guy that says he wants to yank the noose on Hans's neck. There's comedy that can help, and comedy that's just misplaced. To me, your joke is acceptable but what the other guy said is not.

I totally get you. And one piece of advice for all of you who are suicidal. Distractions are a good cure. That's why I picked up writing in the first place.
And as for Amon's response, how would I know if I didn't try?

I'd amend what you said a bit. (and partly what I said) Distractions are a good treatment. Picking up new hobbies to distract you from the fact that you're depressed is good at delaying those feelings, but unless you find out why you're depressed and change it you will not be cured.

In @Hans.Trondheim case, we know his depression comes from his failure at love, so while I've joked with Hans about "just finding love" I've also been serious with him and told him that he needs to heal from his heart break and then find love while he still has time to do so.
