It's not Hachiko but I am searching for two stories that feature sad endings with dogs.

1. Old man goes on a trip with a dog? Dies midway and stays with him.

2 a Woman solving a big problem with her dog but I remember its ending to be sad.

My memory is shit so yeah... Some details might be wrong.
