I am not someone who tends to read/watch Rom Coms in general BUT I tend to slip "rom-com" moments into my writing, sometimes at odd moments, and like it when other fiction does this. One story I am working on has, essentially, a rom-com couple in a more traditional fantasy-adventure story. Some things I've had fun with are the "everyone else knows they're a couple but they haven't figured it out yet" and the "one character makes a revelation thinking the other is asleep/unconscious/unable to hear and they are not"
