When uploading a rewrite should I replace the older chapters or should I make a new series for the rewritten story? I'm also note sure if hiding the the old chapters effect the word count, as I feel it can be misleading if it says there are more words then they're actually is.

Personally, it depends on the scale and totality of the rewrite. If you're just improving the writing a bit, but keeping the overall flow of events, plots, etc, then you can just replace the chapters. Make sure to do a thorough editing pass for pacing and consistency, though, it can be a real problem to make old and new writing line up within the same story.

If you're basically redoing the story to the point that its core themes and other elements are transformed, then it might be best to publish it as a new story. Your newer readers might be thrown off by the sudden shift to a new story if they're in the middle of a read of the old version.

Tried both, multiple times, stat-wise, replacing older chapters may look more appealing, but a new book feels much better, believe me.

It really depends on how much you change on the rewrite. Because if there are a lot of changes(Major plot points) that are different from the old chapter, then just created it as a new series because it might confuse the readers if you replace it with the older chapters. If the rewrite has minimal changes, you can replace it.

I'd think it would depend a ton on the specific situation. Personally, I think I'd either add new chapters as replacements with links to the old, or make a rewrite story directly. Much as I hate my writing, I don't believe in taking anything that is free away from anyone, even if it is to replace with a better version. But I'm weird like that.
