If you started from scratch and there are meaningful narrative changes, absolutely do not delete the old version. Throw up a note at the start and end saying “hey this was essentially the first draft, the revised version where any new updates will show up is here and it’s meaningfully different.” If there are no narrative changes it’s a lot more sketchy, but I’d still err on the side of leaving the old version intact for posterity while sign posting so people know that’s what you did.I got 100+ chapters
I rewrote everything. Started from scratch basically.
Huge narrative change, like story-wise. The only thing that will remain are the characters and premise. If you started from scratch and there are meaningful narrative changes, absolutely do not delete the old version. you can just archive it just in case if you want to come back with that old version or use some part of itI completely rewrote the entire series, but I'm not sure whether I should delete the old ones and replace them with the new ones. Or just create a new one.
I mean, in scribblehub, like the series page.you can just archive it just in case if you want to come back with that old version or use some part of it
You should create a new story in this case and either delete or archive your old one by labeling it as such.Huge narrative change, like story-wise. The only thing that will remain are the characters and premise.
Make a new one. There will probably be readers that preferred the old version, and it would be a massive disappointment for them if a work was deleted for something they don't like as much.Huge narrative change, like story-wise. The only thing that will remain are the characters and premise.
Don't delete the old one, but include a note in the first chapter explaining the switch and linking to the new version. Someone is definitely going to prefer the old version even if you don'tI got 100+ chapters
