Do you think that it is ok if I use the plan for a German story I dropped, and rewrite it in English? It is just that it is well liked by two readers, got two kudos for it, but I just can't write good enough in German. It is like pulling teeth for me.

What I want is, is to give myself a year to draft, send it to alpha and beta readers to polish it, and then try to get it published. I have never done something like that before, but I think that it is time I improve and leave my pride behind.

You should write in the language that you are most comfortable with so if English is that then sure.

Having a draft on how you want your story to go is pretty important as well (even more so for people who want to read it early and help you find the issues)

Overall, go for it, its better to try than to leave it there
