Hiya guys, been a while.

Thread is as the title says, I'm craving stories that have the main theme as an apocalypse.

You know, the story where the beginning usually has the world ending, or monsters invading, or the usual zombie virus. And humans might or might not necessarily gain supernatural abilities.

But please, don't recommend anything litrpg or with numbers or stats or leveling up in general. Just a purely fantasy/sci-fi apocalyptic story.

Thanks. :meowsip:

Will you read the story of a mother and daughter who survive in a post-apocalyptic world?

As long as it fits the theme, yeah.
Okay, it is not an apocalypse in the general sense but an apocalypse for humanity: the world is experiencing a mass amnesia apocalypse, so the world forgets its crimes. If you read it, please leave a rating, review, or any feedback. Thank you.

Oh. I might try it out.

Though the apocalypse I'm talking about is the one that involves collapse of society, law and order in general and the ensuing chaos and struggle for survival.

Yes, that's right, in my world, the law has indeed collapsed and died so my protagonist must become the law itself.

The War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells. It is limited in scale and the ending is kind of disappointing for an apocalypse story, but for its age, it's a solid book.

A collection of apocalypse stories from NU with female leads, most are about people having super powers and increasing in strength. There is a little leveling up in it, but it's not like stat leveling, instead being more just increasing in ranks. Except for Global Flood: I Have a Floating Safehouse which is system leveling. I've read all of the ones on this list and they're not bad. Not spectacular works but they're a decent way to spend some time.
List: Apocalypse with female leads
I'll be honest, I'm not sure what litrpg actually is...

And there's also my own story Crystalborn (see signature), but I haven't updated in a while (too much stuff going on offline that's not really good for a writing mood). That's an apocalypse with mutations and strength increases but no leveling or system, and a highly unreliable narrator.

Whoa. With a time-loop? You know exactly what I'm craving.:blob_highfive:

Lol. Was itching to read this recently you know, especially after the recent movie adaptation got a whopping 0% on rotten tomatoes.:blob_joy:

Niceee. Thanks so much. Was browsing through the apocalypse tag on NU, but it still didn't help in filtering out what I wanted.

LitRPG is for the most part, a novel genre that involves the real world having a system and game-like mechanics like stats, leveling-up, etc. you know, numbers go brr. So I was just avoiding system apocalypses for a while, I've read so much that I've gotten sick and tired of them. Seeing numbers literally make me recoil for now.

I'll check yours out also, hope you do get better enough to continue it.:blob_melt:

Yeah, NU sometimes is a little difficult to find Apocalypse stuff. I prefer female leads so it took me a while just to find what is on that list.

Ah, okay, numbers go brr kind of explained it well for me, thanks. xD

And thank you for the well wish. <3
